Been admitted too. I am glad. Congrats to all my fellows. What s your profile? I am an experienced European attorney aged 32. I have lived already in NY in the past and it s a great place to learn and work.

I received the email yesterday, and as I was walking to the subway this morning, I saw a UPS van speeding up my street. Doh. I was hoping to get news on scholarships today.
rippy: what scholarship were you awarded? And what's your bona fide(s)? :) I am interested in knowing how competitive these scholarships are.

I don't know if I have a scholarship or not, I meant I am waiting for the letter to find out. I was hoping to get Dworkin schoalrship as I am Irish. Its based on an essay so here's hoping.... good luck to you too.

hey rippy, I applied for the Dworkin Scholarship as well (England). Do you know of anyone else who applied for it? I understand they have up to 3 awards available.

I don't know anyone else. hopefully its just us two!! my letter hasn't arrived and tomorrow is a bank holiday in Ireland so I have to wait until Monday. so frustrating.
do you think its based solely on the essay or they look at grades, experience etc too?

I think they base their decision heavily on grades, references and work experience. However, the essay is probably the most important element becauses it separates the Dworkin scholarship from the Hauser scholarship, which is based purely on academic merit. I must say it was a tough essay; I struggled with what aspects to focus on and it's anyone's guess what they're looking for. Good luck.

Actually, JDI, you have to submit three seperate pieces of writing for the Hauser, an essay and two shorter pieces.

I would like to know if the admitted students used the LSAC system. Do you think that counts on the final decision?

I used LSAC...don't know how much using this service affects the commitee's decision...but I was admitted to all the universities I applied so far (Still waiting for CLS and HLS)

I did not use LSAC and got admited.

I didn't use LSAC and have also been admitted to all the universities I applied (but still waiting CLS and HLS, as Anushka). I was wondering how NYU would react since they STRONGLY encouraged the use of LSAC, mais tout est bien qui finit bien.

I believe that there is always a chance to finally get admitted...for instance, not everyone admitted will enroll...
So be patient and good luck Sofi!
