Basically, as a combination of smaller size of the program & classes, notable alumni and financial help.

Both universities are without any doubt excellent academic institutions with strong international reputation, so that was not a deal breaker.

I think you cannot go wrong with any of the T-14, the choice (IMHO) comes down to question of how does certain program and overall "personality" of the school fit you. I also had to take finance into account and determine whether certain picks would be worth extra money.

I am still waiting. I have not been waitlisted, rejected, or accepted. Do you know when the last day for acceptances are? Its annoying to wait this long. For reference, my stats are top 1/3rd at tier 1, with 1.5 years of big 4 M&A tax experience.

Decisions regarding admission are made until the end of March.
Decisions regarding scholarships are made until early April.
This is what I got thanks to the online chat for admitted students and an admitted student event.

There is still hope for admission/scholarships ! :)

Is anyone still waiting for a decision? Still have no updates from the Admissions Committee and starting to get very nervous...

I am still waiting to hear back... since others have been rejected and wait-listed already, I am a little more confident that I will receive an offer of admission, I just hope it is not too late after I have already committed to another school.

I also haven't heard back from NYU. My application was complete January 9. I am honestly not confident that I will even be waitlisted though. I just don't see them holding these acceptances.

Don't you worry guys. Last monday (march 27) I went to admitted students meeting in Bogota and the assistant dean for graduate admissions said that they have not handed all the decisions yet.
