For those waiting for info re: financial aid - I asked for expedited review of my application. So far, I just got an email stating that they forward my request to the AdmCom and that they will do their best to make a decision before my deadlines.

Did anyone got the admission conditioned upon the enrollment in the ALP?..... Are the I-20 Form and F-1 student visa applied through the ALP website, rather than the ISSO website?

I requested an expedited decision last Wednesday since I have an offer (UPenn) which had a April 1 deadline. I received an admission offer from Columbia about an hour ago. Don't be afraid to request a expedited decision.

Does anyone know when we are likely to hear about scholarships/fellowships/financial aid? I applied for the Appel but not sure if there are any others Im automatically eligible for. It must be soon right, as they say that they won't give us a tuition deposit deadline until we hear on financial aid?

Hey guys, I got an offer from Columbia last week but I'm unable to find out when the deadline for enrollment is. The Admitted students website also seems to provide no clues. Also waiting to hear about financial aid/scholarships and their website said that those decisions could be given out as late as early May?! Doesn't make sense to have an enrollment deadline before we hear about aid. I'm still waiting on a couple more colleges to respond so wanted to know how long I could?

Just curious - is the grant/ waiver need based ? As in, do they look at the industry you work in and your annual salary? If I remember correctly, they asked for current salary, didn't they?

Of course, there are certain exceptions I think. For someone who is top of the class and has an excellent CV to boot, regardless of need, a waiver/grant/scholarship is granted.

I did not even notice the change in the app tracker status (thank you). When are your deadlines btw? (I have April 1 for Chicago and April 3 for NYU).

March 31 (Michigan) and April 1 (Chicago, Duke), these are the ones I got a scholarship from. I attached the letters from these schools to my e-mail to Columbia, firstly to prove that I have deadlines, but also in hope that they may rase my chances of a scholarship from Columbia :D :D :D (not sure that it can work that way but it does not hurt to try :D )

I also have deadlines for UPenn, NYU and Berkeley around April but I decided against them anyway, so they are not dependant upon Columbia's decision.

I saw that Columbia can be pretty swift with expedited reviews, although they state that they cannot guarantee the decision by these deadlines.
