Thanks. My email just stated this: "We hope to begin reviewing financial aid applications soon and will notify you as soon as we have made a decision. At that time, we will also let you know when your tuition deposits will be due."

Mine too, no clear deadline. I wrote to the GLS Department yesterday because of it.
Hey pepona, was the April 3rd deadline mentioned expressly in the email?

I guess that indicates that we may be receiving the decision re: financial aid soon (maybe?). Anyway, Fenix007, can you please let me/us know once you receive the response?

I emailed them to ask when my deadline to confirm is, this is what they said:
Admitted applicants are not given a deadline to accept our offer until they have received the results of their financial aid application. We hope to be making these decisions very soon. You will be notified by email as soon as a decision has been made on your financial aid application. At that time, we will also let you know when your enrollment decision and deposits will be due.

Dear all,
I pursued my LLM at Columbia,
I just want to say this: do not despair. Believe it or not, there is still plenty of time to receive news.
I was admitted on March 24. In order to receive the admission decision, I had to request an expedited decision (because I faced other deadlines on 4/1). Do the same if you are facing deadlines. Attach the letters of other programs stating the deadline, in order to prove that you are really facing this deadlines.
Again, do not despair.
Good Luck!
M.

Thanks. This is very helpful. I also have a deadline on April 01 and am contemplating asking for an expedited decision. However, I was wondering on how to time it - when I should make the request, how long do they usually take to respond, etc.

I sent the request on 3/22. They sent the admission email on 3/24. You should send a very brief email saying something like: I am facing deadlines from XYZ program and I would like to request an expedited decision from CLS in order to make a decision.
Do not forget to attach a copy of the admission letters from the other programs.
Additional note: admitted candidates can also request expedited decision on financial aid, if you need this info to make a decision.

Sure. Thanks. I am just a little nervous though. I have received an admit only from Cornell so far and am awaiting decisions from CLS, Stanford and Berkeley (waitlisted at UPenn, so doesn't really account for much re requesting for an expedited decision.) Cant help but think - a request for an expedited decision with only Cornell in the running, might result in a disadvantageous decision, as against having a couple more offers from other better law schools to choose from?

That depends. The fact that you only have an offer from Cornell so far does not mean per se that you are in a disadvantageous position. You can say the other schools haven't released their results yet. There are many other aspects.
