Boalt sent out decision notice by mail not email last week? So, until now those who have not received notice may be rejected.

I was also rejected. I called today and they told me that I should receive the letter in the following days. I didn't even made the waiting list.

It is really frustating to realize that I will probably never know the reason why I was rejected. Are they looking for straight A students? I graduated 15% of my class in one of the top Universities in Mexico. Never failed a class. My TOEFL score was of 277 (computer based), I am fluent in English and French and I have a strong background ( I have worked for almost 5 years now as an Intellectual Property Lawyer and I have published some articles). So, what else do I need?

I only applied to Berkeley and Stanford (I haven't heard from them yet). So, if I also get rejected from Stanford, I will have to submit applications for the 2007 term. Does anyone know if the admissions board really considers applicants who were previously rejected? Do I have any real chance if I reapply? I would love to hear any tips or pointers from those of you who got accepted this year.

Thanks and good luck!

In their website, it states that Boalt prefer the applicant with governmental interest. I mean if you do not states in your SOP that you want to go back to your home country and work in some government demartment, your qualification might not be much distinctive.
Moreover, I think the applicant with a goverment scholarship from their home country may be distinctive (for Boalt), although their grade or toefl score are just acceptable. One of my friend have the government scholarship(with a burden to work in that department for 5 years after graduated) and he got offer from Boalt with the same profile as yours, gim.

just my assumption

Dear friend, I am from Mexico too and I have two Mexican friends that were accepted to take the LLM at Berkeley. They have impressive credentials. I recommend you to apply to Georgetown, they recently extent the deadline to apply and I understand the IP program is one of the top in the US.

It is very difficult to be accepted in Stanford, remember that they accept just 10 students.

Good luck

For those of you who haven't heard from Berkeley yet: there is still hope!! I never received an acceptance email or anything like all of you guys on the board. But today there was a surprise: I received the acceptance letter by post..
!!! So keep your hopes up if you haven't heard anything
Best to all of you.
By the way, I probably won't accept the offer as I got admitted to the University of Chicago and I do prefer it over Berkeley. Moreover, IP is not my area...
But good luck!

you guys,

I'm starting to worry. I have not heard from Berkeley since my file complete notice. They said not to write unless urgently required, but would you suggest I phone them, or should I just wait a little more. Any one else in the same situation? Do you know if they've made all decisions?

Hi, I have the same situation with you. I still do not know whether I will be admitted or rejected till now. There is not any information concerning the application.

Good luck to both of us.

Hi, I consider rejecting it, as I feel I should go to Chicago (or perhaps Harvard, if admitted). But I do want to consult some professors from my law faculty before making a final decision.

Just got an email of rejectance. :(

I am sorry to inform you that, after reviewing the applications to the LL.M. program for the 2006-2007 academic year, the Advanced Legal Studies Committee of the School of Law is unable to offer you admission to this years class.

This year, we received more than 600 applications from 50 countries for the 65 places in the LL.M. program. As a result, we must exclude a great many highly-qualified applicants whom we would be pleased to have at Boalt Hall.

This email is sent in addition to an official document you should receive by postal mail with then next few weeks. We appreciate your interest in Boalt Hall and wish you much success in continuing your studies and your career.
