Hello
I am new here. I have been waiting for Boalt Hall's decisions and I am becoming more and more nervous each day. I feel like I am going to be denied since many of you have already received a notice of acceptance. I called and asked about the decisions and they told me that a final decision will be made on the 28th of feburary. Since some of you out there have already received a reply I am guessing that they are going to mail out the ones that they have denied on that date. I feel really really down!! I wish somebody could give me a clue on exactly what is going on with my application!!
well congrats for those accepted and wish all of those still waiting luck!!

Blive,
Thanks a lot for your post! So we all have until feb 28. At least the agony won't be much longer. I think there are several others in your situation (including myself), so I wouldn't stress. Anyway, what's done is done, sent is sent and all we can do is wait. Thanks for the deadline info. Best of luck to all of you!

Hey asterion
I know what is done is done but i just cant help myself from checking again and again on these boards for new info and opening up my mail box.
Besides boalt I have applied to HLS Cornell Duke and UCLA which I have not heard a sound from any!! If they don't want me just say so!!!! URG I can't stand this anxiety, especially when some people already have their acceptance letter!!
I will say hi in another hour or so. can't stay off of the board too long.
By the way do all of you have job experience and a straight A transcript? I feel so alone with no job experience and a GPA of 3.74 out of 4. please share some info!!!

Below is the e-mail from from Boalt Hall delivered this morning in response to my query......
We may not know the result until end of March, for another month...--;
=======================
I am writing to inform you that we are still awaiting decisions to be made by admissions reviewers. During this time, we ask that you please wait patiently. We understand that this process can be tedious and frusterating at times, and we apologize.
We expect decisions to be finalized by the end of this month and we expect to send out decisions thereafter. You should know your admissions status for certain by the end of March.
=========================
good luck to ya all~~

Below is the response email from Boalt Hall for me.
Maybe, we will know the decision on the end of Feb.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Admissions decisions are currently, but slowly, coming in from the
evaluation committee. The processing committee notifies each admit as
soon as possible, however, please be aware that many, many applications
were sent this year and processing may take longer than expected. The
evaluation committee should complete all decisions
(admitted/denied/waitlisted) by the end of the week. All applicants
will be notified no later than by the end of the month. Thank you for
your patience throughout the application period.

When did you receive that email? on 23rd?
If that is the case, it's quite confusing that, on the same day, Boalt Hall reply to me it can be as late as end of March and reply to you it will be end of February......isn't it?

I hate to break the news to you guys, but it appears Berkeley Admissions Office made a mistake:

Berkeley Law Accidentally Emails Acceptance Letters To Everyone
Over 6,000 students who were not supposed to receive acceptance letters got one by mistake last week.
Admissions officers at the University of California, Berkeley, one of the most difficult law schools to gain acceptance to in the country, made a grave mistake by accidentally sent a congratulatory message to all 7,000 students that applied for admission to the post graduate school. The director of admissions, Edward Tom, was apparently showing a new worker how to use the e-mail software that the school uses when the mistake was made. Out of the 7,000 students that applied to the law school, only about 800 to 850 of them will ultimately be accepted.
I hit the Send button, Tom said, describing the mistake. Normally when we do [training] for real, I have another person on staff whos an expert. But that worker was not available when the new employee started last Friday.

That is funny.
Posted Feb 28, 2006 01:38
Sure is haha!! Yet, is the information certain? I mean, were there really 6,000 plus postgraduate applications? Does this include Law School? 850 admitted per year, must include law school. Why didn't I (and many others, for the matter) receive the wrong e-mail? Anyway, a bit more of ambiguity to add to an already uncertain matter.
Good luck to all! Any news would be appreciated at this stage.

not sure if this is info of any help but i contacted Boalt and they said that decisions should be out by the 28th. they told me that i could call on the 28th and ask for the results.
i told them that i've heard people already receiving their acceptance letter and that i'm worried for not hearing anything from them. I asked them how long should i wait till i can assume that i've been denied and they told me if i don't hear from them after 2 to 3 weeks from the 28th then chances are that i've been rejected
good luck everyone

Below is a top story on Berkeley's website. Looks like the reported mistake didn't have anything to do with LLM decisions.
------
Email Erroneously Sent to Boalt Applicants
Applicants for the entering class of 2006 at Boalt Hall may have erroneously received an email on Friday, February 17, that implied they had been admitted to the law school, law school officials announced today.
The mistake took place when law school Director of Admissions Edward Tom was attempting to demonstrate the use of the law schools email software program to a new staff member. Tom immediately recognized the mistake and, within 20 minutes, emailed a note to the applicants that pointed out that the email had been sent in error and offered his apologies. He sent an additional letter of apology the next day.
"I deeply regret any confusion or disappointment this error may have caused," said Tom. "I know that many law school applicants are particularly anxious while awaiting the arrival of decision letters and I regret that this incident may have added to that tension."
Boalts Admissions Office plans to explore making modifications to the software so such mistakes are less likely in the future.
The email congratulated applicants on their recent admission to Boalt Hall and invited them to an annual reception co-hosted by two Boalt alumni and several Boalt student organizations. It is unclear whether all 7,000 applicants received the email or half of the applicant pool. Tom pointed out that those who did receive the email should know that it is no reflection on their chances of gaining admission.
The law school's admissions process remains underway. Boalt Hall plans to admit 800 to 850 students and, so far, about 500 applicants have been offered admission. The remainder of the applicants will be notified beginning in the next two to three weeks. The admissions process is expected to be completed by the first week of April.

Sorry, I didn't understand your post. Do you mean that they have made all decisions and are currently in the process of informing applicants? Can anyone confirm? Thanks!
