Regular cycle admitted in december. You must be a pretty good one. May we know which continent are you from?

Applicant20091, what was your GPA? Working experience? TOEFL?
Posted Jan 14, 2009 18:35
We don't use GPAs in my country but I was several years top of my class. My TOEFL score was above CLS' requirements and while studying I interned at several law firms during a period of time of two years.

applicant20091, did you use LSAC to submit your transcripts?
Posted Jan 14, 2009 18:49
I did.

Applicant 20091,
Congratulations Applicant 20091, would you mind sharing with us how did LSAC rated your grades?

How many years does a law degree take in your country, applicant20091?
Posted Jan 15, 2009 00:25
CR2 > thank you, I was very surprised myself by the timing.
LSAC translated -poorly- my grades into above average but I didn't provide them with my rankings. CLS has obviously a better knowledge of foreign grading systems than LSAC.
Icep > in my country, it takes 4 years to complete the law degree required to sit the bar exam.

applicant20091,
Thank you very much for your prompt response. Despite the clear mistake, Columbia indeed managed to see through it, and make a decision. Once more, my most sincere congratulations.

I don't think anybody who applied NYC only has been accepted so far, at least as far as I know.
I wrote an email asking for that and they came back to me with the old saying:
"LL.M. applicants who meet the December 1st deadline will be notified of the Committee on Graduate Admissions decision on in early to mid-March. The decisions for the NYU@NUS program will be communicated on a rolling basis through January... "
Even Columbia has been releasing the decision. What the hell is NYU doing? They will lose a lot of excellent applicants for their retarded action.
I see that there are at least more than 5 ppl who has got their admission offer for the NYU@NUS program (pls see the thread).
My question is does NYU release all the offer at once or will there be another cycle through January? I haven't got anything from NYU to this date. Is there still any hope or should i just forget NYU?
Because according to Brightest in another thread, one way to identify whether you're admitted or not is to log on to the NYU admission website; if you can't log on it means you're not admitted. Is that really the case? Coz if it is, it means that there will be no other admission cycle for the program.
Thanks much for your response.

Does somebody know if someone that applied only to NYU@NYC has been accepted so far?
Posted Jan 15, 2009 06:55
Hey Jenny!
I doubt that that has happened. Judging from what happened last year i would say that the school will release decisions for those who applied solely to NYC in Feb.

Hi Jenny,
In the NYU@NUS admission thread, Brightest said that he applied for both NYU@NUS and NYU at New York City and he has already got the admission offer for both program already. But i'm not sure about admission offer for those applying exclusively for NYC.

On a side note, I am just wondering how is everyone funding their LLMs? Personally, I am definitely in need of financial aid/scholarship so my decision as to which uni to attend would very much depend on the monetary factors. I might probably take a bank loan too.
How many are in my position? Also, how many have rich parents who will fund their LLM?
