Hi everyone,
This is my first post here. I am from a developing country in Africa, with experience in over five African countries and in Europe where I worked at the International Criminal Court at The Hague. I graduated among the top from my law school, where I also represented my school at the all African moot court competition. I have published and worked for one of the largest media houses in Africa. I started my practice in the government where I did my pupillage (clerkship) worked in a mid sized law firm before joining media and going to the ICC.
Now, I want to dedicate my life to teaching law and reforming the legal systems in Africa, from my experiences, I believe that economic prosperity and stability can not be achieved in Africa without good legal systems and top notch law schools.
I plan to apply to the LL.M Program at Yale as well as NYU, Columbia, Cardozo, Harvard, Cornell and Michigan in that order since my principal goal is to teach. When is the best time to send in the applications? Is August too early? From previous LL.M applicants, when did you send in your applications? How was your experience applying? Did the admin offices reply immediately after getting your applications? Is there anyone else from Africa who is also applying to these schools? Thanks and hope to hear from you and share this journey with applicants for LL.M 2010.

NYU emailed me and explained that the best time to send will be after September, although one can open his/her online application account right away and use the application number after September 1st.
