I did use the LSAC, even though I knew it wasn't a good idea ...
In any case - I think I will wait some more before contacting them asking where my notification is ... You never know I'd stress them out ;)
Good luck to all of you other people still waiting! Congrats to the others!!

To Pash: I am from Taiwan. Thanks for your summary.
To Weiping: Hi, I am also from Taiwan. It's so nice to meet you here. Would you like to share some information with me via e-mail? Maybe we could help each other before going to US.

They have updated the admitted students website. It states the following:
"LL.M. Class of 2006
Checklist for Admitted Students
Return the completed Initial Summer Program Deposit form, by fax or otherwise, ensuring its arrival at the Penn Law address below within 30 days of your emailed notice of admission."
As we all know, the Summer Program is mandatory for admitted LLMs. 30 days?????????? Not good, not good at all. HLS and probably CLS, regarding the majority of us here, will release their decisions after Penn's deadline!!

Do you have any suggestions how to solve this problem? Does one´s commitment to attend the summer program (by paying the deposit and signing the respective form) automatically imply one´s commitment to attend the LL.M. program? Any idea on that?

I believe that this is an important issue that we should clarify by contacting the admissions office. What do you guys think about it? I would like to wait for NYU, CLS and HLS responses before making a decision...

Yes, I totally agree with you acm123. So, how should we all proceed? How should we pose our question then and who is going to address the admission office? Does anybody have any other idea how to handle this issue?

This is what I found in their FAQ-section:
Now that I have been accepted, what do I need to do?
Our welcome page explains the process you need to follow to enroll, but your first, immediate task is respond to your offer of admission by April 1 or within 30 days of the date of the email that informed you of that offer (whichever is later).
Before that same deadline, the Law School must receive your completed Initial Summer Program Deposit Form and a payment in the amount of $500.
When is my reply deadline?
You will receive a written offer of admission by email and letter, and the deadline for your reply and initial deposit payment is 30 days after the date of the earlier of those two.
This is not all clear from my point of view. What is the difference between the reply-deadline and the deadline mentioned in the first paragraph? If anyone could provide some insight, I would really appreciate this.

I actually face the same difficulty of understanding this part. I think there is a contradiction in what they are saying. Does anybody have a clue?
Posted Feb 03, 2006 11:19
I have read the documents carefully and within the "LL.M. INITIAL SUMMER PROGRAM DEPOSIT FORM" it is written that the online payment for the initial deposit fee shall begin on April, 1. We can maybe mail the admitted graduate student coordinator and say him that we are interested in paying online by using credit card when this procedure will be available and send the form within the 30 days deadline...
Posted Feb 03, 2006 11:21
Well, my problem is that I am not entitled to pay by credit card since I sent in a paper application.
Posted Feb 03, 2006 11:30
There is a patent contradiction between these two answers... The first one is good for us since according to it, it seems clear that we can wait until April, 1, for making the deposit. But sccording to the second it is also clear that we just have 30 days.... We'll have to answer them...

Hi Busybody,
You submitted your application via paper forms and you've already received an admission decision from Upenn?
Many thanks,

All,
I have emailed the Admitted Graduate Student Coordinator asking for clarification of the contradiction in their FAQs. Will keep y'all apprised of any developments.
I am sure they appreciate people have filed more than one application and that some universities are not as timely as Penn Law in notifying their decisions.

Hey guys,
The acceptance email seems to state that the term of 30 days will run from ANOTHER following email in which they will tell us about how securing the place in the class.
Thus, I guess we have a little more time.
Did anyone understand the same?
Regards,
Pasquale

Pash, I agree with you. In any case, we should wait for another email or for the postal mail referred to in the acceptance email, don't you think?
Best,
Andrés

I have the same opinion with Pash and LLM-MEX.
I believe the school will understand that applicants have to wait for other responses and make decision.
Also thanks Cynic1995 for writing to the Student Coordinator for clarification. Their response will indeed be very helpful.

I have just checked my online status page and it states:
To confirm your place at Penn Law, we ask that you make two deposits: a $500 Initial Summer Program Deposit, due as indicated in your original notification of acceptance, and a $1,500 Final Summer Program Deposit due 30 days later.
Later on, it reads that:
Initial Summer Program Deposit (Due 01-Apr-2006)
Final Summer Program Deposit (Due 01-May-2006)"
Therefore, I think our deadline is really April 1st.

Compeletely agree with you. It seems that finally we can wait for other responses...
