I haven't heard from them..however..at this point I am no longer waiting as I REALLY don't have any hopes. I am even past the anxiety level...I don't check my mail compulsively anymore...I am not asking myself whether I should send them an email..I'm just tired...

Same here. Maybe after the first scholarship deadline expires and/or the Harvard decisions some spots will open up.

My theory is that even though the admissions committee stayed for spring break, they probably took today off. Either that or they are busily sorting through all the responses (most people with scholarships had to notify NYU by today). I think a lot more people might hear by the end of next week!

You are probably right. Maybe they might be hungover as yesterday it was St Patrick's! ;)

Well, actually . . . I had a theory that the admissions committee only meets a few times a week to discuss a set amount of applications, but I haven't tracked how often a week (or on which days of the week) people hear about getting in.

Wow, it was St. Patrick's Day yesterday! It seemed crazy down here (I'm in South Florida), so I'm sure it was something else to see in Greenwich Village, NYC!!

I didn't know Florida has a significant Irish population! ;)

But why couldn't the committee start work before March? Our applications were complete *months* ago!?

@dggc - I am exhausted by the process as well. I've given up trying to second-guess NYU.

There are just so many variables to consider...found out I got a $20K scholarship from Duke, and a $10K scholarship from Georgetown. I want to do WTO/investment/int'l trade law so I am now having a really hard time deciding. I also got into Columbia but with no aid though.

It's so funny because the whole time - at least until NYU started messing up - I was fixated on NYU and REALLY wanted to go there. Now I am feeling disillusioned because the other schools responded to my requests to expedite admissions decisions, or at least gave me a proper answer, but NYU, despite my calling probably 10 times at this stage, just keeps telling me to "check my e-mail".

What a joke. I'm wondering whether they will be like this with us once we get there?

Exactly know what you mean. Every time when I ask them about the status of my application they only reply me with a standard answer, unlike other universities which always reply to me personally. That really upsets me ESP when they know that students have deadline elsewhere to meet. It's a financial burden if one has to pay deposit somewhere else at this stage just because Nyu is taking their times.

this process isnt new for them. I'm sure they have their methods.. so they should at least be able to give proper answers to our queries!

I think it's pretty clear the class is full now, and we will be hearing from them as admitted candidates deny their offer.

There's still a good chance, just have to wait (probably 2 weeks...).

I agree with mikado,veven if they would have put us in sort of waitlist. Maybe it's not their policy. Anyway, all this will end in few weeks.
