They are also giving out rejections by email if you write to them asking for a decision. Save you a phone call anyway. Congratulations to all admitted.

I have not received neither an acceptance nor a rejection. Is some one else in the same situation? Is someone in the waiting list? any news?

I emailed them and after five minutes I received this:
On behalf of the Committee on Graduate Studies, I am very sorry to report that the Committee, after carefully considering your case, has been unable to grant you admission to the LL.M. Program this year.
As you may know, there were a large number of highly qualified applicants competing for the limited number of places available. The Committee found it impossible to accept all those whom it would like to encourage in graduate study.
We wish you success in your future academic and professional career. Thank you for your interest in the Harvard Law School Graduate Program.
Congrats to all who were accepted and good luck.

I've e-mailed them twice, both yesterday and today, still no reply whatsoever!
Posted Mar 20, 2007 23:34
still nothing. I doubt I will hear anything today.

i called HLS at bout 9.30 am and was informed of my rejection over the phone. It was disappointing but certainly not the end of the world.
would advise those who havent' heard anything to call HLS. My hunch is that admissions decisions for those who are admitted had already been sent out on 19.3.2007 so in this instance - no news is bad news i suppose.
anyway, kudos to those who have been selected. i'm sure you guys deserved it!!

I think there are still some chances. Not many people were admitted so far... there might be a second batch of admissions or a third batch... anyway, the coming Friday will be a sentence day...

i think so too...moreover even of those admitted, quite a number are turning down the offer for other places e.g i think pilufo on this board will prefer Chicago. it wud appear that even Friday is not the ultimate day of sentence...
lol..spell check;)

Hey have you been waitlisted- did you get a communication/email/mail to that effect from Harvard?
Posted Mar 23, 2007 18:40
yep, it was communicated to me. But I am wondering if I should get my hopes up or? I am not familiar with the waitlist process and whether it's an extension of the anxiety or whether it might turn out successful???? They told me a final decision is reached in ...May?!

When I applied two years ago I knew a tonne of ppl who turned HLS down. One girl from my school found out in June that she was going to HLS after she had already accepted at Michigan.
Posted Mar 23, 2007 21:53
For those that are on the waitlist, how did you find out? Did you call the office or were you e-mailed/mailed?
Posted Mar 24, 2007 11:03
I emailed for an update and got a reply (re waitlist) fairly quickly.

Hey, for those of us waitlisted, I just read a similar blog from 2005 regarding the chances to be written off the list and apparently it all depends on the region or country you come from, for equal representation of regions purposes. So if 5 applicants form a specific region drop out but there are sufficient representatives from that region in the class already chances to be written off the list are remote. It is certainly not ranked in the common understanding of ranking, it's more an issue of country/ region representation...at least that's my understanding.
To be honest, I don't think chances are very good...at least for me...my region is very very popular. It's more of a lottery we can do nothing about.

Hey, I got in! congrats to all!
Received a phone call on march 13th and an email on march 19th. The documents arrived a week later by fedex.
I am thinking of defering it for next year because I got a scholarship for another university. I can't say no o this scholarship.
Do you know about defering at Harvard?
Maybe if I defer, there will be a place for someone in my region? I'm from up north (Canada) :)
