My mates, the end is here
And so I face the final decision
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've had an education that's full
I 've trawled through volmes of case-laws and case-books
And more, much more than this, I read them my way
Regrets, I'll have for a few days if HLS says NO
But then again, I'll get over it
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each LL.M application, each careful step along each question for YLS application
And more, much more than this, I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew by applying to be one of 25 at YLS
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way
I've loved, I've laughed and cried on the LL.M board
I've had my fill, my share of losing arguments on this board
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think that I had the guts to believe I will get into YLS
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"
For what is a lawyer, what has he got?
If not a law degree, then he has naught
To think he's nothing without a YLS or HLS LL.M would be sad indictment of his life
The record shows I tried to measure up with the elites and did it my way!
Yes, it was my way
