Guys, I need a little help! My portico shows nothing :'(
It just shows my name, 'No active containers -
Having no active containers may mean that you have no Portico access levels set. Heads of Department are now responsible for amending Portico access levels.', a 'logout' button under 'sections', 'moodle', 'online timetable' and 'portico services' under 'quick access' and NOTHING ELSE! :((
Where am I going wrong? I submitted my application on 20th Dec and received 2 mails confirming they have received both my references too. What do I do? Or is it because of vacations?

Has anyone who is still waiting for a decision from the UCL heard back since the office reopened? My application was complete (i.e. got my portico access email) on 20th November but the status is still the same. It's been 7 weeks already...
Posted Jan 07, 2014 17:22
they told me that applications which were complete by 15th november will get a decision next week.

Has anyone heard back from UCL regarding their application?
Is anyone willing to email them to ask about their status?

Haven't heard back yet - got my final email, "Admissions Portal available" email, on 20 November. It's been more than 6 weeks. I'm just relying on your info that they will be getting back to those who completed their application on 15 November by this week. They're taking a long time though! Starting to worry...

I got a conditional offer today! The condition was to complete my current degree with a B-average. My application was completed on 12 November, so it took a little over 6 weeks (excluding the winter holidays). If you completed yours on 20 November it should be about a week! I am planning to specialize in public international law, what is everyone else thinkin?
Good luck to all of you still waiting for answers!

Did you get an email about the conditional offer? Or you just checked portico?
My application was complete on the 13th and they told me that it was with the admissions board since the 15th... and my status on portico is still "complete".

Got an email late last night that said that my status on portico had been updated. When I checked the status of the application was updated to "conditional offer", allowing me to accept or decline the offer. I am sure your reply is just around the corner, good luck!!

I agree, its likely that I'll get an answer from them today. Congrats on your offer, as I see it a B in Norway is equivalent to a 2.1 here, which is a really good offer from UCL.
Posted Jan 14, 2014 14:11
Thanks! I hold a high B so it's a little higher than a 2.1 but not quite a first (and I am finishing an integrated master's degree with a first in the last two years, so I'm guessing that helped). I see you got accepted to LSE, congrats! I am still waiting to hear from them.

Hey guys. I emailed UCL a few days ago. This is the reply that they sent me:
"Your application is currently being considered.
Please note that UCL was closed for Christmas between 21 December and 1 January with everyone on leave.
Please also note that both, the Admissions Officer as well as the Graduate Tutor, are currently out of the office due to illness. You will hear back from us shortly."
My application was completed on 15th November. I am absolutely terrified of this. I think they don't like me enough. :(
Just give me the decision already. This is actually killing me. SIGH!

I called them to ask them about the status of my application. They told me it is at the final stage and I should expect an answer either next week or in 2 weeks max.
So... my conclusion is that when their decision comes, it comes and that's it. It can be either today or in 3 weeks.

Thanks for your insight everyone. Yeah the wait is killing me too, but good to know that at least we're all in the same boat and that everyone shares the same feelings!

Hey guys,
I've been reading this thread and I got a little bit confused. On my portico and on the first page after you login, there is an "Applications" thumbnail, where it is says that my application is complete. In that same thumbnail to the right there is a View button to click. The same thumbnail transforms to this:
"Application Complete
Your references have been received and your application is being assessed.
We may need to contact you by email if we require further information about your application.
You should receive a response approximately six weeks after the application became complete"
My last mail from UCL, the References Received mail is dated 5/12/13, and my status has bee "Being assessed" ever since that date.
What confused me is that people are saying on this thread that their status was "Application Complete" all along, and when it changed to "Being Assessed" they got a decision reply a few hours later. Well my "Being Assessed" status has been going on for more than 6 weeks now.
Any idea? Can someone clarify this for me?
Thank you sirs

Hey, I think you may have got a little confused. Your status is currently "Application Complete", not "Being Assessed", as you can see on your home page. This is the final stage until you receive the decision from UCL. Other applicants have reported that their "Application Complete" status, the one that you are on, changed to "Currently being processed by Admissions" and then they had received the decision from UCL within a day or two after this status change. During this short stage, the Admissions team processes the decision into Portico etc. Hope this helps.

Thanks sydllm for the answer. Yeah I can see clearly now (the rain is gone). So my actual status is the one that shows on the first page after I log in. Not the one that shows on the page after I click the View button.

I just need to send UCL admissions the certified copy of my degree and I'm in!
I have applied on Nov. 12th.
All of luck for you, folks!
I have one question, tought. Anyone knows if it is better to stay at UCL accomodation or rent an apartment with 2-3 more?
Thanks!

Congrats roberto.bk! My application was complete a week after yours, so hopefully I will hear back soon. The wait is so painful...
