Anyone successful with AHRC funding?
I was not. Is it linked to Clarendon or to college-related scholarships?

Email just says "AHRC BGP studentship"
I'm unsure if there are other fully funded fees scholarships available for EU students

Not for me. I'm assuming I won't be getting any funding, but I'd really, really like a college offer soon.

Hello..
Is there anyone who is in a fix, deciding between Oxford BCL and Cambridge LLM? and I would really appreciate any suggestions on this. So far I havent heard from either regarding colleges or scholarships. Also my subjects of interest are IPR, Competition and EU Trade law. I am from India, and my country sees oxford as a better brand, but I do not want to pursue education from a university solely because its a better brand.
Thank you.

I have to make the same choice, and i think i'm going for Oxford, because I want to try the tutorial method.

This is exactly the reason why I chose Oxford.

@ RolanDParis & Mike84, what subjects do you plan to take up?
Posted Apr 08, 2012 20:17
Comparative public law, constitutional theory, law and society in medieval England...

oh gr8... Oxford makes total sense! :) Btw are u part of the FB Oxford 2013 group?
Posted Apr 08, 2012 20:29
Of course I am!
Why do you say great? Do you wish to choose similar subjects?
It's true that I'm a lot more interested by Oxford subjects

oh okay.. I couldn't find you there, thought you dint join. Well from what I have heard from my seniors and others, for the subjects you mentioned, Oxford is the best. Oh no, my subjects are, IPR, Competition, Corp Finance and EU trade law.

i am in the oxford-group, too. my subjects: conflict of laws, principles of civil procedure law, european private law and law in society or evidence

OT: Hope we make better in next year's Boat Race. ;-)
Regarding subjects, I guess I'll go for Conflict of Laws, International Economic Law and Principles of Civil Procedure. Not sure yet which to take as 4th.

I also had to pick between Oxford and Cambridge, but Oxford's won (barring a funding miracle from Cambridge) due to their better course selection (for my tastes) and the tutorial support etc. Also, as you mention for India, the BCL seems to have a stronger reputation in Australia, especially in my state. But for your preferred subjects, Vindhya, I've heard Cambridge is pretty good, so that must make your choice really tricky!
The courses I'm thinking of doing are: Jurisprudence, Comparative Public Law, and two of Advanced Property and Trusts, Law in Society, and Comparative and Global Environmental Law (haven't decided between those 3 yet).
Hope college offers go well for those who are still waiting (like me), and we hear before too long.
