Oxford BCL/MJur 2012-2013

Just for curiosity; is the BCL rated better than Cam LLM??? specifically, since I wish to pursue IPR and Competition and am a little let down that Oxford seems to be offering only one module on IPR as compared to two last year!

Thank you guys. But my question is specifically related to my area of interest actually- I heard that LSE commercial law is better- is that true?

Are you mad? Choose Oxford!

I'm currently working in one of the "magic circle" law firms and I can assure you that Oxbridge will open more doors to you than any other university in the UK, regardless of your area of interest.. besides, Ox and Cam have also an excellent reputation in the field of commercial & corporate law anyway..at least according to my boss ;-)

To be more precise, I read that many people distinguish between Mjur < CamLLM < BCL ...

My English law professor told me the same thing, but I must confess that I'm still very sad about being accepted only by Cambridge, and rejected by Oxford...

Yes I'd like to know the same thing!

And is it bad that Oxford's 3hour closed book exams are weighing on my mind and leaning me towards choosing Cambridge?

Last week I was offered a place for the MJur programme starting this fall (and feel very fortunate about it). While I have time to accept this offer until mid-May, I am also waiting for a response from Cambridge, where I applied for the LLM. (Even in case of an offer from Cambridge I would probably still prefer the Oxford MJur, but that's not the point here.)

My question: Can it be detrimental in any way not to accept Oxford's offer immediately? Does, for example, accepting Oxford's offer only in May affect college allocation adversely?

Hi everyone, I've been accepted to the BCL and to the Cambridge LLM. Just got an email RE telephone interview for AHRC studentship at Cambridge. Any idea when the Oxford nominations for this will be made?
Thanks

I think it is about time to start a group for Oxford BCL/MJur applicants. Who else has applied? Does anyone know when the decisions will be out?

YES! It is a Wonderful Idea!!

Cheers,

Agree! Fb Group is perfect.
I'm in Oxford now and I ask to the College I applied to about my application. The Adm officer told that the deadline to make a decision is 20th April.
