hi Pucca, just wish u had tabled this b4 submitting i wld have adviced you candidly to go bak and add more money to your bank accont then ask your bank to print another statement bearing the specified ammount based on the conversion rate. however, I wld like to ask if you checkd the oanda website cos the converrsion rate at the oanda website superceeds the conversion rate stated by your bank.( that is what the UKBA wld use to assess level of funds). the other fears about filling of your forms is uncalled for. you are absolutely correct. if you have finishes paying your tuition fees, all you just need sice yould be in london is 7200 and not 9600.
nevertheless, lets be hopeful . you may be granted your visa. you have done your best to make up for the deficit by including a letter from your parents, that should be enough to grant you but at the discretion of the entry clearance officer.(if the account is not jointly held by you and your parents)
cheer up and be hopeful. wish you all the best
I KNOW PATTO im so dumb i should have asked before submitting but i have no idea really why i didnt,,,apparently im better at giving advide than doing it myself hehehe
I however added more money to my account and my parents are gonna send me a new letter just in case sometimes happens,,i also got my accommodation offer 2 days ago so i also paid the deposit so I hope this also helps to convince them im more than ready to go to UCL!

Hi! Pucca,
Yup, Dubai is very modren...at the moment its just bursting with construction of all kinds it has worlds tallest buiding and biggest Mall....Dubai has no natural beauty or great history attached to it but its amazing to see the way these guys have managed to create a world class city. Do plan for next year....Lemme know if I can be of any help to you.

Yes I will see how I can organize this event when most of us are in London already because the people who are going to other places in England might not be able to come but they will be invited anyway :)

Actually, I think the phone call is probably a good sign. Your visa has probably been approved.

It's just a guess on my part admittedly. But I have had visa problems before - with a commonwealth country other than the uk but with extremely strict immigration rules - and what happened was that the visa office wrote me a letter drawing my attention to the problem and asked me to give them a reply within a specific period of time. They didn't immediately return my passport but held on to it while waiting for my reply. Hence if they're willing to return your passport immediately, I think your visa application went through without a hitch.
The situation happened about 2 years ago and did concern a different country, but having applied to visas from various countries before, a lot of the procedures do seem awfully similar; at least in my limited experience. I don't pretend to know the uk immigration procedure in its entirety and maybe your situation might differ from mine. Anyways wish you all the best.

WELL WHAT I WAS AFRAID OF HAPPENED!
MY VISA WAS REFUSSED BECAUSE MY BANK STATEMENT SAID 7,067 POUNDS AND THE AMOUNT REQUESTED IS 7,200. SO YES, a slightly difference of around 133 counted against me. This was only a mistake of my bank because of the exchanged rate used. wELL Just to avoid future problems i deposited more than 7,200 pounds so i dont have to hear about them never again only when they are calling to get my visa.
I must say i had already paid the total amount of the tuition fees so this gives you an idea how strict they are. PLEASE DONT YOU DARE SUBMIT A BANK STATEMENT SHOWING LESS THAN 7,200 POUNDS LEASE!!! even if your country currency is equal yo that amount of pounds make sure the bank put thats,,,no room for interpretation, discretion netc
I cried and i was very depressed for a few hours but I applied again and my appointment is on August 31. I have gathered most of the document needed again and UCL was very kind and very helpful and will send me a new visa letter this week. Yes the british embassy keeps all your documents even if you get rejected so that meant getting a new visa letter, new bank statement, new transcripts and the translation thereof,,,,all shipped from my country Panama which is not close at all from where im living now (Vienna) but well lesson learned thats fore sure!
Good luck to the rest of you and lets hope next month within the first week of September i will finally my visa! :)

I believe you'd get it when u apply this time. Please don't be depressed Pucca n know that we all are interested in your success.
Posted Aug 17, 2009 17:11
thanks a lot,,,,but i really was hoping they wouldnt be that strict about 133 pounds come one,,,a person who has already 13,750 in tuition fees and has more than 7,000 pounds in her account sure has the money to support herself and i have to do a very big effort to obtain this money. How i have to pay again 180 euros for my application but well my intention its not to scare you but to make you very aware of how strict these people are,,just do exactly what they say to avoid future problems

My heart goes out to you. I am also confident that youwill get it this time around. I have an appointment for Wednesday for mine.
