Oh Pucca...Before going all the way back to Panama you should have asked your ruperiors at the UN either to write recommendation letter or even make a call to the embassy...The embassies always listen the organisations...I wish your posted your note earlier, would have gadly navigated you...
Good luck and all the best, be careful though, Brit embassies in emergent markets DO NOT like to give visas to people who already were rejected in the developed worl countries...Still suggest you get this letter from the UN about how great you are. An the embassy lady was talking rubbish, she just did not want to give a visa and was making excuses...

by the way banking i was not rejected in my country,,,i had never been rejected a visa before,,EVER,,this was my first time ,,,,i was rejected in vienna because of some minor 100 pounds outstanding difference thats all,,,but well lets see how it works now!

olgun i have no idea if u can apply by post in the uk i saw you can apply online,,its easier i think

Good luck, Pucca. I am more then surprised reading your post. Whatever you do make sure you get this visa because this will overrule your rejection in Vienna. Otherwise that rejection will haunt you: you will have to disclose it on any future visa and residency applications in the future in UK, EU and USA and it will significantly damage your chances as no officer would want to give you a positive answer as you were once rejected by his/her co-worker...

i was informed on tuesday afternoon by the uk embassy in new york that my visa had been issued,,,but well then i have to pray for my passport to arrive tomorrow afternoon at the latest to the uk embassy in my country becaue my flight is scheduled for tomorrow night (friday 25) so the stress doesnt stop yet dear lord!

otherwise i will have to leave on Monday and will arrive late to registration day on tuesday morning,,,,thats just my luck but well the uni knowes about my situation,,however i hope my visa arrives tomorrow cause i wanna leave already! i will let you know when im finally in London! i deserve an award or something,,this has been too much for me,,i have no idea why ive had such a back luck!

Good luck PUCCA. I would only add that if you miss some of the registration period it probably won't be that big of a deal. I will miss some of mine at Oxford because of what the British Embassy did to me ... nothing as bad as what they did to you, however.

For some strange reason the eligibility date on my visa was not set for a month before the commencement of studies (as it should have been) but rather on the date the program actually begins (i.e., after all the pre-sessional registration activities.) However, I talked to the staff at Oxford and they said it was no big deal, I could just register, etc. upon arrival.

The important thing is that you have the visa and that you are going to enroll in (and complete, I'm sure) your program. If you miss some of the registration activities, you can make up for this once you arrive. Stay strong!
