WELL WHAT I WAS AFRAID OF HAPPENED!

MY VISA WAS REFUSSED BECAUSE MY BANK STATEMENT SAID 7,067 POUNDS AND THE AMOUNT REQUESTED IS 7,200. SO YES, a slightly difference of around 133 counted against me. This was only a mistake of my bank because of the exchanged rate used. wELL Just to avoid future problems i deposited more than 7,200 pounds so i dont have to hear about them never again only when they are calling to get my visa.

I must say i had already paid the total amount of the tuition fees so this gives you an idea how strict they are. PLEASE DONT YOU DARE SUBMIT A BANK STATEMENT SHOWING LESS THAN 7,200 POUNDS LEASE!!! even if your country currency is equal yo that amount of pounds make sure the bank put thats,,,no room for interpretation, discretion netc

I cried and i was very depressed for a few hours but I applied again and my appointment is on August 31. I have gathered most of the document needed again and UCL was very kind and very helpful and will send me a new visa letter this week. Yes the british embassy keeps all your documents even if you get rejected so that meant getting a new visa letter, new bank statement, new transcripts and the translation thereof,,,,all shipped from my country Panama which is not close at all from where im living now (Vienna) but well lesson learned thats fore sure!

Good luck to the rest of you and lets hope next month within the first week of September i will finally my visa! :)

dearest Pucca,

I was really surprised to hear this ....never thought that a visa can be rejected for certain exchange rate reasons....Anyways, not to worry .....am sure this time you will get one.

BTW, the embassy returned all my original papers...they never kept a single original paper of mine, not even the Admission/Sponsor letter. Check with them again I think they should return your original documents...

Once again Good luck!!

Good luck, Pucca- do not forget to take your references from your current professors about the fact that you were the best student they ever had (or similar) and also a refernce from your current university's finance dpeartment that you have always paid your fees, rents etc on time and had no money problem. Should do it!

Dear Pucca,

Kings college sends two letters to the student one is an admission letter and the other is the Sponsor letter. Lemme tell you, I too had initially gone to the visa office with the admission letter and while checking the documents the lady informed me to submit the Sponsor Licence Letter. So I applied for my Visa once I got the Sponsor Letter.

In my case, my Sponsor Letter was sent back as I was not home at the delivery time. I contacted the college regarding the same and they resent the letter to me. I even took the courier tracking number so that this time I better not miss the same.

College can never forget to put their sponsor licence number coz its a totally different letter which starts with heading as Visa Sponsor Licence Letter. Am sure the girl just submitted her admission letter only along with other papers.

Am surprised that how the people collecting the documents accepted her papers without a Sponsor letter, coz the people who check the papers at the time of submission of the documents at the visa centre, immediately point out that a Sponsor Letter is a must and without the same Visa will be denied at the outset.

So lets not blame the College for this coz, I am afraid the girl never submitted her Sponsor Letter in the first place.

If I am not wrong there "Annex A Supporting Document Checklist" one is required to mention all the original/important documents that one has submitted and all those originals are returned back along with your passport. This is a rule, they cant keep your documents with them if you have mentioned about the same in that column. It can be challenged if they do otherwise.

I had mentioned about my Admission Letter as well as Sponsor Letter under the head "Others"...and like I mentioned they all were returned to me.

Pucca, I hope you get all your letters fast....and apply for the visa soon. Hope to meet you soon in London

I submitted these two forms and these were provided to me by the visa office.

1. POINTS BASED SYSTEM FORM (VAF9 MAY 2009)
APPENDIX 8: TIER 4 (GENERAL) STUDENT
SELF-ASSESSMENT

2. POINTS BASED SYSTEM FORM (VAF9 MAR 2009)
PERSONAL DETAILS

There is "Annexure A - Supporting Document Checklist" in form no. 2 above, which is where u need to list all the original documents that you are submitting and all same are to be returned to you whether your visa is accepted or rejected. Under the head "Other" I had mentioned my Original Admission letter and Original Visa Sponsor Letter.

They are on the website
http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/vafs

I hope PUCCA i have clarified your doubt.

WELL GUYS WHAT CAN I TELL YOU!! I DIDNT GET THE VISA, WHATS MORE THEY DIDNT EVEN TAKE MY APPLICATION PAPERS AND THIS IS WHY:

After the first application here in Vienna (where i had been living for the past 5 months and doing an internship at the United Nations) and the rejection. I decided to apply again and fixed the funds stuff and got more than the 7,200 pounds requested deposited in my account and stated in my bank letter. As well as visa letter from UCL and all the supporting document which i had to request again to be sent from my country (around 100 dollars dhl) and well i applied again.

My new appointment date was on Monday 31 August 2009 and i went with all my supporting documents and stuff and then SURPRISE! the same women who had taken my papers the first time said now oh well no cannot apply here you need a residence permit!!! I was like wait whatttt but the consul of austria in my country said i could apply here in Vienna because i was going to stay more than 3 months in the country and i was not a turist but doing an internship at the UN. AND THEN SHE IS LIKE OH WELL NO YOU CANNOT APPLY HERE IN VIENNA, JUST GO BACK TO YOUR COUNTRY AND APPLY,,THATS NOT A BIG DEAL

IM LIKE EHH YEAHHH my country (Panama) its very far and i didnt plan to there and then come back,,,i have to buy new tickert and since its such short notice it will cost me a lot of money,,,i had also planned some other trips because i was going to be on vacation since this friday before going to uni on sept 28 and since those tickets are not refundable im losijng around 300 dollars in plane tickets,,what about that,,,,oh yes im also going to loose the deposit for my accomodation (320 euros) because i will be leaving beforehand,,,,she didnt care believe me,,she was rude and i felt like i was a delinquent or a bad person and im only a student who is doing a REALLY REALLY BIG EFFORT to go to the uk to study because i think its good for my future.

The people where i work tried to help and all but although its the UN they cannot go against the rules of a country so what happened:

I HAD TO GO BACK TO MY COUNTRY,,,,I just arrived yesterday night and I have my appointment at the UK Embassy tomorrow morning ....i hope the visa is ready on time because i bought my return ticket for sept 25 at night because classes begin sept 28. Otherwise i will have to change the date of my travelk again and will arruive late at the uni,,,im better now about this but i cried and was so sad about this because my parents have spent so much money only to bring me back and do this application here.

The worst thing is that everything is online so the only thing i will be doing here is taken a picture and get my fingerprints taken,,isnt that great? moreover my parents spend more than 1500 dollars to bring me back .... im really upset about the way the uk embassy treats student really,,,,,,if i had known this before i wouldnt have applied to a university in the uk,,thats for sure

and to add a little bit more to this drama,,the application has to be made in panama city and since i had not planned to come back until next year after the master degree was over i rented my apartment and sold my car so i have no place here at the city and we are spending extra money on accommodation then i have to go back to my hometown where i used to live with my parents 4 years ago and stay there until the uk embassy calls us to collct the visa and take a plane back to london as soon as possible,,oh yes my hometown its 6 hours from the city,,so well yes they have NO IDEA how many trouble they have made me go through,,,its been very frustating and a lot of pressure!

well i wish you luck to the rest of you and well i will let you know if i finally get my visa or not,,,,,,,,,if i dont get it this time then i will think this wasnt meant to be thats it,,,,,,,sorry for boring you with all this stordy but maybe it can help somebody else!
