Does anyone know when did Chicago send the financial aid news last year?

Hello! I do M&As and finance. I believe that there’s no difference between Chicago and Columbia. However, an advantage of Columbia is that it is in NYC so it’s make it easier to find a job. My decision will be determined by the financial aid. Hope it helps!

I just received an email that I won't be getting a scholarship offer at least until April 1 deadline. But the amount they offer as scholarship seems to be very small (5,000 ~ 10k)

Congratulations to anyone with both offers from UChi and Columbia. There are no wrong choice here. :)

I had offers from both UChi and Columbia (8 years ago) and visited both, and decided to attend UChi (for my JD). In terms of program prestige, as well as job prospects, the two programs are not much different, except Columbia has the advantage of being in NYC.

What tipped the balance for me was the student body and the school culture. UChi is by far the more “nerd-friendly” school. If you tend to answer rhetorical questions and make serious remarks when people just want casual chitchat over a beer, and cause awkward silence in conversations, you might feel more comfortable at UChi.

If there are virtual meetings with current students, definitely attend. You will know what suits you better.

Has anyone heard on the waitlist?

I’ve just received this:

« I am reaching out because we are now in the process of reviewing a small number of candidates from the waitlist for admission to the LLM here at UChicago Law. You have been selected as a candidate for review. Therefore, I would like to know if you are indeed still interested in pursuing the LLM at UChicago. If so, please send a short email to lawgrad@uchicago.edu indicating your interest, and that you would accept an offer of admission if extended. It is important to let you know that we are no longer able to provide any financial aid and candidates admitted from the waitlist are ineligible for deferral. »

Although I am not going to accept since there will be no financial support, it was good to hear from them :)
