Hi forzik,

congratulations to your admission! The class is really that small. I'm in the current LL.M. class and I think we are 43 students. General and tax LLMs together. And believe me, that's an incredible plus, you really get to know your classmates.
As to the scholarships, of course I can't say how much they give in total. But if you apply I think your chances are not bad, since a number of people received aid, including me. However, don't expect them to waive the entire tuition fees, that's certainly not the standard.

Again, congrats! I hope you decide to come to Ann Arbor, it's a wonderful place and an incredible law school... :-)

Thank you very much for the helpful information.

Apart from the Grotius scholarship, do you (or anyone else) have any idea how other fellowships work? I seem to be eligible for The Joris Scholarship and The M. Elaine Johnston Scholarship. Any information on these two? (the application proces, chances or any other details).

Sorry, I don't know anything about these scholarships. But if you have questions about the application process, just write an email to the law school and ask. They will be happy to answer all your questions. And they are pretty fast.

Yes, I am going to email Dora-Maria soon. Just thought that a little piece of ''outside the admission office" information might be insightful as well. Nevertheless, thank you for your time and information.

I was accepted today and I applied mid-January.

I still haven't been sent the formal letter, which I'm waiting to see due to the fact that I applied for the Grotius Scholarship.

Does anyone know how likely it is to get some sort of aid, or how soon the formal letter will be sent?

Has anyone already got rejected or waitlisted? I still have heard no news from Michigan, though my application completed on Jan, 7th.

I emailed Dora-Maria regarding these questions (financial aid decisions, deadlines etc.). Once I have more information Ill share it here with everyone.

My application is completed on 16 jan and still no news so far. Will you send an email to the univ? Or just keep waiting.

Best of lucks to those still waiting for an answer.

Nope, haven't received it yet. But then airmail does tend to take its time, and the Admissions Office people said that the materials still had to be finalised when they sent the offer letter via email on Feb 6.

Congrats everyone who is accepted !

I would like to know whether your admission is conditional. For me, I have to enroll in English course for 6 weeks before attending the program. Anyone gets something like this?

Dear kingkongkung: I wouldn't hurt you but if your TOEFL score is 100, why should you enroll in English course before attending the program as the minimum required is 98?

That's okay. Probably, my TOEFL score is very few above Michigan requirement. At the time of submitting my app, my TOEFL is 99 and I later sent my score with 100 to LSAC after retaking. Still I'm planning to improve my English before enrolling LLM anyway! :)

Just wondered that anyone in the same situation as mine?
