Master of Laws (LL.M.) 

Technology and globalization have changed the way the legal sector operates. IE Law School’s Master of Laws (LL.M.) responds to these new challenges by offering multidisciplinary and rigorous legal training designed to facilitate cross-border practice. Created to be adapted to every student’s journey, the program offers candidates the opportunity to specialize in one of three areas—International Business Law, International Dispute Resolution, Intellectual Property and Technology Law or International Taxation —earning a Postgraduate Diploma (PgDip) as well as the LL.M.

In addition to this highly-specialized expertise, students will gain broader soft and hard skills in the areas of management, leadership, technology, communication, negotiation, and more. They will also benefit from personal, one-to-one mentoring from experienced legal professionals, offering guidance during their studies and an opportunity to build a professional network.

Executive LL.M. 

The Executive LL.M. is a joint degree governed by two of the world’s leading law schools: Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and IE Law School. The program is business-law focused, covers American Common Law and its application in international practice, and provides participants core business administration subjects, vital to international lawyers at this stage of their careers, including financial accounting, corporate finance, negotiation, marketing, and business strategy. This pioneering program is designed for the experienced lawyer who wants to earn an LL.M. degree from a top US law school, along with a Certificate in Business Administration from IE Business School, without having to take a year away from work to do so. 

Our graduates of the Executive LL.M. may now qualify to take the California Bar Exam, whether qualified or not in their home countries, and provided that they have a valid first-degree in law and meet all other requirements set by the Bar Association. More Information

Master of Laws (LL.M.)
First degree in law (LLB or equivalent); Resume / CV; Online application form + 2 letters of recommendation + 3 essays; GMAT LSAT, GRE or IE Global Admission Test; Demonstrated proficiency in English: TOEFL, IELTS, Duolingo English Test; Personal interview.

Executive LL.M.
First degree in law (LLB or equivalent). An applicant without a first degree in law may be admitted as a candidate for the MSL (Master of Science in Law) degree on proof of bar membership or substantial work experience directly dealing with legal or regulatory matters. These applicants will be subject to evaluation on a case-by-case basis; At least 3 years of professional experience; Resume / CV; Online application form + 1 letter of recommendation + 1 personal statement; Personal interview (where proficiency in English will be evaluated)

IE has a rolling admissions process. As such, there are no specific deadlines by which we must receive applications. However, due to the sheer number of applicants, we do strongly recommend that you apply well in advance of the program intake of your choice to avoid disappointment.
