I received an offer from UMichigan today. They were really quick with the whole thing. My application was complete on January 10. No news on the financial aid/Grotious Fellowship yet. Does anyone know when is it likely to be decided?
Did any of you hear from Michigan?

Congratulations! I also received an offer letter today! My application was complete on 9th January. With respect to aid/scholarships, the letter says,
"If you applied for financial aid from the Law School, you should expect news from us in the next few weeks."

Congratulations to you too! I saw the letter - now the agonizing wait as there is no way I will be able to enroll without a substantial grant. Michigan is my top choice and I really hope for some good news for all of us in the coming weeks.

Guys! congrats, I also received an offer yesterday, really happy about it, waiting to hear about from them on financial aid. They also say that more info is being airmailed.
I've not been able to log on to the admissions site they linked, do you have this same inconvenience?
Best of luck to all of you!

Well, they provided me with a UM ID number, but for some reason I've not been able to access the status-check site, I sent an inquiry to the Grad. Admissions Coordinator. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes, one of my first choice. I'm quite worried about it

I received my offer yesterday. The application was completed on January 28.
Now I would have a couple of general questions - I know that Michigan LLM class is fairly small but is it really only around 40 students a year?
Also (in general) how genereous is Michigan Law with financial aid? I applied to Grotius scholarship but I imagine that I cannot rely on this too much. Does Michigan grant general financial aid (based on financial needs) other than the scholarships advertised on their websites? How generous are they?

Hi forzik,
congratulations to your admission! The class is really that small. I'm in the current LL.M. class and I think we are 43 students. General and tax LLMs together. And believe me, that's an incredible plus, you really get to know your classmates.
As to the scholarships, of course I can't say how much they give in total. But if you apply I think your chances are not bad, since a number of people received aid, including me. However, don't expect them to waive the entire tuition fees, that's certainly not the standard.
Again, congrats! I hope you decide to come to Ann Arbor, it's a wonderful place and an incredible law school... :-)

Any idea when the University gets back to admitted candidates about the Grotius fellowship and other financial aid?

I got an email from Michigan that we are likely to hear about it in the 'latter third of March' if that helps.
