Admitted to the Intl. Tax LL.M. at NYU!!!
Told that I am eligible for the half tuition scholarship (Gerald L. Wallace). First come, first served basis ("he earlier you make this commitment, the greater your chances of receiving the scholarship."), regionally distributed - by country, I suppose.
Deadline for acceptance (the admission, without guarantee of the scholarship): 15/Apr.
Now I'm VERY happy and confident w.r.t. other schools!
IN @ NYU!!!

Congrats!
Franziskaner, what country are you from? I assume you are a foreign educated lawyer.
You seem like one of the first people to hear from NYU.

The deadline for application is April 1 right? Why they give out admission so early? So it is a rolling basis?

It's about time you got into another top school Mr Brazilian... after all these years of hanging around the LLM guide board under different names and getting into Yale, Harvard...oh...the only one to get into SLS without an interview...timewaster...see you around here again next year....or is it tomorrow...just don't take up the Yale challenge...m/F

Franziskaner.......i think you must confirm or deny the allegation...silence is usally taken as confirmation!!
Posted Mar 03, 2009 05:37
To be fair, I received an offer this morning as well for the General LLM and what Franziskaner quoted comes straight from the offer letter. But I received a different scholarship. The deadline is 15 Apr too, with a $500 deposit as a condition for acceptance. The offer letter is in the form of a password protected PDF file which is accessible from the application site.
I know that this being my first post, it might be suspicious, but I thought I should verify what Franziskaner said.

Destiny, I am not Franziskaner, or am I trying to cover up for him. I know that there's something going on over at the Yale thread - indeed I too am waiting for their decision (and keeping up with the drama in the relevant thread!) - but in so far as NYU is concerned, I did receive an offer this morning on similar terms as Franziskaner. The difference being that it is for the General LLM. Earlier there was a quote from Franziskaner - these are the words preceding and following that particular quote from my own offer letter:
"... For those who need time to
deliberate, please bear in mind that the earlier you make this commitment, the greater your chances
of receiving the scholarship. Of course we understand that time differences will affect students'..."
So I really think Franziskaner is telling the truth for NYU. I leave it to you and other readers what to make of his words over at the Yale thread.

....but you kept quiet..busy at work...yeah? and then this...C'mon man pick up my Yale challenge...

Dear Destiny,
I am not in the US; I am in SE Asia. I got the offer 9am by email my time this morning, but read the letter only at 11am and thereafter registered on this board.
I appreciate your skepticism, particularly in the light of what has happened elsewhere on this board, but I ask that you keep in mind the time difference that exists between users of this board.
I am not Franciscan, nor am I Kobayashi or whoever else. As you can see, I have not set out to defend Franciscan for his or her comments in the Yale thread. I am simply stating my own experience with the NYU offer and offering my personal inference that Franciscan is at least telling the truth for the NYU matter. So I would appreciate it if you stopped associating me with Franciscan and asking me to "take up the Yale challenge", whatever that means.

I just don't give a toss about your dross on the time difference, go figure what you've posted so far and when you registered and posted - you should be good at maths. It is public, people you can join in...
All I want is to OUT this guy through the Yale challenge...please PM him too...Congratulations again...Yale should call you...again Congs...

OK I see what you mean - it says I joined today 7am, and posted 12.37pm on my screen. I suppose that is a problem with the board. If you were to register a new account now, I am guessing it would also say you joined at some time far removed from the actual time you joined. Admittedly that is my oversight - I ought to have checked what the board actually said but I would have assumed that to be accurate! I posted as soon as I joined at 12.37pm.

Testing.

Yeah...just join in and tell the guy to take up Yale challenge...Congrats on NYU

Despite me having other things to do, I do feel this frustration and need to show I am not lying. Pls see the post by "EB2" - I just created a new account and sent a new message. Pls see the time-stamp of the message and the time "EB2" registered. That is all I am going to do - here are the facts: I received a NYU offer this morning, on substantively the same terms (as quoted) as Franzisca and therefore I do not think he is lying for this particular thread. That is all.

A mate just said you should register now under Magic 56 to show your theory...C'mon mate shame them
