Hi guys,
I got the same offer from NYU as Franziskaner - admitted to the Corporate Law LL.M plus the 50% tuition discount. Already granted, all I need to do is pay the deposit and sign the enrollment form.
I am very happy, yet I was wondering whether it was maybe worth it not to accept the offer (and risk losing the tuition scholarship) and wait for Columbia's decision. But Iam getting more sceptical about since people have already received the decisions from Columbia and I have not, meaning that myabe I did not get in. And then, judging from everyone's reaction, I guess what NYU offers is a really good deal. I just wonder which shool is better if you are interested in capital markets- Columbia or NYU? ANyone has any suggestions?
Thanks and congratulations to the ones enrolled!
Admitted to the Intl. Tax LL.M. at NYU!!!
Told that I am eligible for the half tuition scholarship (Gerald L. Wallace). First come, first served basis ("he earlier you make this commitment, the greater your chances of receiving the scholarship."), regionally distributed - by country, I suppose.
Deadline for acceptance (the admission, without guarantee of the scholarship): 15/Apr.
Now I'm VERY happy and confident w.r.t. other schools!

Congratulations Ally! I have a close friend doing the LLM in Corporation at NYU. My friend told that NYU is better than Columbia if you want to work as an attorney. Columbia is more academic. If I was you, I would accept the offer from NYU right a way. Columbia is too snob. NYU is great!!! On the other hand, I know a girl who graduated from Columbia in the end of last year and already has a job in NY.
Where are you from? Would you mind to share your background?

Hi, thanks Aleajactaest. It is so difficult to make a decision, really. About your friend, I know someone who graduated from NYU and got a job at Weil in NYC immediately.
It is helpful you say that NYU is better if you want to become an attorney. Iam more into to practicing law than academics, to be honest.
Iam from Poland, Warsaw University graduate, scholarship at University of Florida, LEvin College of Law. 2 years experience at Allen&Overy, capital markets department.
Yourself?

I'm Brazilian, from Rio de Janeiro, but I live in NYC. No way! I have a friend from Warsaw! Agneiscka!!! I meet her here in NYC but she is back in Poland. Such a coincidence! Go for NYU. Don't wait for Columbia. I guess most of people who is going to Columbia already got an answer. Don't lose the opportunity to go to NYU.

Still waiting for the answer. Almost dying after seeing a lot of people being accepted and no answer for me yet. What about you? Did you receive a letter by mail or an e-mail first? If it was a letter, was it a big packet? From UPS or normal mail service?

It was just an email. Just from yesteraday, so might be getting yours really soon as well :)

Guys, congratulations for the admissions and for the scholarships! That's fantastic!!!

I received the email from NYU last night offering me admission to their general program. Although I applied for the Hauser scholarship, they did not mention any scholarship in the email. It seems that NYU started to release admissions not only to those being granted scholarship but also to those without scholarship. BTW, I am from Southeastern Asia.
