Hi, guys. Just received my admission email for the International Legal Studies LL.M!!! Could you confirm that decisions on financial aid are usually released a few days after the admission?

Hey Jacopo.c! I also applied for the International Legal Studies LLM however haven't heard back anything yet. I was wondering if you don't mind sharing when you applied? I know Georgetown has a rolling admissions cycle and according to their '6-10 week' window I still have a couple of weeks to go since I applied on January 21st, but just wanted to know how long they took for you?

Congratulations on your admission!

Thanks!

Hi ColGre,

I applied on December 27 and all the documents were processed on January 3. I also had an interview with the Assistant Dean on February 28 and got admitted on March 10. I am sure they will let you know in the coming weeks.

Good luck!!

Hi Jacopo can I ask you how the interview was held? By phone? Or it happened to you to be in Washington in February? Thanks

Sure! The interview was held by Skype and lasted 15 minutes. It's been a pleasant conversation that mostly focused on the reasons why I chose Georgetown and my future career goals.

For those interested in scholarships, I think it is very beneficial to send an email to the Gtown Graduate Admissions email address stating why Gtown is your first choice for next year and why the choice is hard due to financial difficulties. This was the truth for me, as I had to turn down a job offer to attend Gtown next year, so I called admissions and stated that I wanted to attend Gtown, but it would be very hard for me to justify paying the full tuition next year instead of having an incoming salary. The admissions officer stated that I should put everything I said to her in writing and email it to the Grad Admissions email address, so that those statements could be considered by the scholarship committee. I did what she said, got a nice response email, and did end up receiving some money. I don't know if my email was the difference maker, but its worth a shot...

May I ask if someone has turned down his or her offer from Georgetown? If someone received a better offer from other universities and has already decided not to attend GULC programs, refusing its offer before April 1st might be helpful for those who are still waiting for financial aid disclosure

Hi, I am admitted to the GT tax LLM program. Has anyone heard back on scholarship decisions? If so, is all the scholarship money doled out by now?

Hi guys !

I got accepted at Gtown in February, 28th but have not heard about the scholarship yet...
For those who have been granted one, can you tell me how long it took for you to receive the email after the admission date ?
Also, I was wondering: do they send rejection emails for scholarships or do they simply remain silent when no scholarship is granted ?
I was also wondering if you think they will give the answer by April 1st or if anyone has experience been offered a scholarship after the registration deadline?
Thanks a lot !

Hey guys! Does any one know about the chances of getting financial aid/tuition waiver? I just wrote an email asking for it and they answered the first round of awards was already done and that new decisions could not be released before april 1st.

Hello guys, to those people that have been accepted, did you receive the paper admision letter with something hand written? I just received mine and there was an addicional phrase hand written and I would like to know if that is common.

Yes, they write a handwritten note on every admission letter.

I have never heard from someone that didn't have a handwritten note, and I know many people that have applied to Georgetown. So I am pretty sure they always do it on all letters :). From what I hear, this has been Georgetown's practice for years.
