Georgetown Admissions 2017-2018

Hi everyone!

I just got my Early Action admission email from Georgetown :)! I was wondering if anyone else is admitted already as well? Also, does anyone know when scholarship decisions will be issued?

@ Ruth : Congratulation for your admission. When did you apply? I did mine on October 5, but no email from GTown for the moment.
I guess the scholarship will be granted when the admission cycle will be over (but not sure about that).

I applied in September I think, though my Letters of Recommendations weren't uploaded by my references until October. I'm sure you'll hear back soon! :)

Congratulations Ruth. I also received my admission e-mail (no call) on the 28th October (Early Action). Do you intend on taking up your place? Feel free to PM if preferable. On the subject of financial aid - I believe for Georgetown, financial aid decisions are released in February to March, once most admissions decisions have been distributed.

To those interested: applied on the 2nd September, complete on the 5th September.

Congratulations horsebot!! :) I am not sure yet whether or not I intend to take up my space. Georgetown is certainly one of my top choices, but I am waiting to hear back from other universities and my decision will largely depend upon scholarship grants...

What about you?

Thanks! Very kind :-) I love the idea of being in Washington D.C. (apparently a great city for young professionals and students, I have a friend at Georgetown now but not in law) and of course its proximity to the courts/public institutions... So externships would be a brilliant opportunity. Equally, I am waiting to hear back from other east coast schools which rank higher, but the ultimate decision will be heavily affected by grants/aid. Although I have heard that Georgetown is fairly generous in that there are several $10,000 partial scholarships going around.

Hello all,

I was just accepted to the International Business & Economic Law (IBEL) program today so wanted to share my timeline for those who are still waiting. I applied through Early Action (EA) when the cycle opened. I had submitted my electronic application on October 1st but the physical documents took a few days and the portal status had been on "Application Complete" since October 5th. For the first time it changed, becoming "under review" yesterday and recieved my acceptance today through email. I am a U.S. educated (J.D.) law school student. I hope this helps and best of luck to everyone.

Application Completed - 10/05
Application Under Review - 12/01
Congratulations Email - 12/02

Hi guys!

I have also been accepted in Georgetown for a Tax LLM in International Taxation as a foreign student! My application went under review and within a day I got my acceptance letter! Still awaiting the package though (accepted beginning if December).

Congrats to all!
I applied to Gtown on December 14th, but my LSAC report was sent one week later.
From what I've read, I should expect some decision by the end of February...

I just go in today. I applied in November. I had a 3.4 at the time and was in top 30% from Pepperdine. After Fall grades I did well (nearly all As). I got an A- in Fed income Tax and raised my overall GPA to 3.5. No other tax activities or tax classes. On the Georgetown FAQ site they say most people accepted have a 3.2 or higher and are in the top 1/3 of their class. https://www.law.georgetown.edu/admissions-financial-aid/graduate-admissions/llm-degree-programs/frequently-asked-questions/Admissions-Requirements.cfm

I got into the full time tax program on Friday, but scholarships will likely decide whether I actually attend. Does anyone know when GULC sends out their scholarship decisions? Thanks!
