Any other admission? I completed my application 4 days ago, but I am already anxious. For sure, this must be the worst part.

I was reading the post by vigdissig and wondered if you all also shared your hobbies and extracurricular activities in your PS/CV. Everything I wrote there was law-related (*panic*).

Please don't panic on account of my post! I may have spent too much time reading about personal statements online, where the material is often geared towards JD applicants who may not have any legal experience. My decision to mention those things also just has a lot to do with my own priorities and interests which happen to be on one hand, the law, and the other, music and singing :)
However it would be interesting to hear the answer to the question if any of you have talked about extracurriculars in your applications! :)

I think nobody should panic about Personal Statement. As its name says is "PERSONAL" that means that what may works for someone may not work for others... I think you should talk about yourself and tell the board why you stand out... that my be an special event, a problem you face in the past and you suceed to overcome, a law experience, or as Vidgy, the music!
If your hobbys or extracurriculum actitivities make you special I think you should mention. Otherwise, mention something else... if for example, you play soccer, read and do standards things, there is no point to include in your personal statement... thats the reason I didnt say anything about that :)

Hopefully they start sending out the tax acceptances soon. Is the admitted students site up yet?

Anyone else admitted?

Today is Thanksgiving, but I am checking the applicant status webpage...

Anyone else?

I went complete on 11/10 and still nothing here.
Posted Nov 26, 2012 19:15
My application went complete in Nov 16, but still did not change to "under review".

I'm applying for tax. Went complete on 11/15. Nothing yet.
Do we know for certain that they're good about changing the status to Under Review? I've read in past threads (but I can't remember how old they were) that statuses never changed for some applicants.

The date of my recommendation letters has changed (11/26/2012)... but the date the application went complete is still the same (11/16). Don't know if it should mean anything. Maybe not...

Hi guys, if you have any question on LLM in Georgetown (esp. non Tax related), please feel free to ask me (post or PM). I'm already a student and (hopefully) will finish my study next year.
Thanks :)
Thanks :)

My status changed today to "application under review". Fingers crossed.

Dear All,
I am a current LL.M. student, and congratulations to all admitted students.
Just generally, they appreciate different and rich backgrounds, and it's one of rare top schools that might give admission to relatively lower grades if you can "compensate" it with other assets.
And if you hesitate between Georgetown and other top schools, just keep in mind that being in DC is priceless, since it gives you countless opportunities. LL.M. year is not only about the education that you get, but also (and in my opinion even more) about networking.
And also in terms of program size, before I came here, a lot of people criticized Georgetown for its program size and they kept telling that I should go to a school with smaller LL.M. program (like UVA or a couple of others). But it is very important to be able to meet people from different countries, because it will give you very nice contacts. We have people form 70 countries this year, and all of them are coming from different yet great backgrounds (big firms, companies, governments, etc.).
Best of luck to those who still wait for an answer!..
