Oh,
and by the way it seems they really decide "by region". All of us s. americans got deferred or rejected on the very same day (yesterday).

My profile is:
9.0 out of 10.0 gpa (no rank, but i guess top 5%). 2 years practice with a law school prof., Teaching assistant, internship at D.A office. Strong rec. letters. TOEFL 111. Extra curricular activities, articles published. Feeling miserable at this point.

Also miserable...I'm there with you. But I know others rejected upfront, and that gives me some relief...I hope it does to you to.

Is it fair to say that those who got in early at CLS have a chance at HLS, but those who got waitlisted/pused back to the regular admission cycle at CLS should not have their hopes up for HLS?

Oh man, don't say that... 2 bad news in a single day? I can't handle it... I will put an end at this misery... goodbye unfair world...
Serious, I think CLS seeks excellent Law Workers, and HLS seeks leaders. Anyway, different approach.

in my opinion you should just chill... I mean it won't help putting your hopes up to get admitted to all of the best schools, and it won't help being all pesimistic about everything... just wait and see... you will all get admitted to a school maybe not HLS or SLS, but NYU, still a good school too. And if you are really lucky (and thats what it takes) you'll get admitted to HLS YLS or SLS. Who knows. Just chill and relax. It won't help to worry all the time and freak out all the others.
Just think realsitic: there are thousands of applicants with similar credntials... they have to pick just a few people .. so sometimes it depends just what country you are from or whats your TOEFL score or whatever they take into account as the deciding credential. So please people hang in there, relax, wait till march but don't get all obsessed ;) It won't help, trust me. Oh and if you don't get admitted to HLS for example, its nothing personal, so don't understand it that way. ;)

hey anyone there....any idea about the number of applicants that get deferred to regular cycle........my common sense says that it should not be more than 180....coz they have 220 seats in total and30-40 get through the early review thing....so in all they cant defer more than 180.......correct me if i'm wrong......
Posted Dec 19, 2008 08:32
I don't think the math is that simple. The schools always admit more students than there are seats in the class (correctly) expecting that not all admitted students will enroll. Keep the hope alive!

:( I don't think I can. I'm just a bunch of nerves when it comes to these things, and right now I'm just so scared I could *(&^ my pants.
Brightest said Feb, and then someone after said Jan so that sorta relieved me a bit.. And then someone said March!
I'm not even applying anywhere else. This is the only school I want.
Let's all.. wait. :(

Deferred as well. Some people in my country also got deferred or rejected.
I have a feeling that excluding those who received calls from CLS earlier, most of the remainings would be either deferred or rejected... No one reported admission these days.

Also being deferred. In the CLS email, it's said they received 45% more applications compared with last year. Seems many see one year at CLS as a safe harbor in the economic tsunami. It really worries me: HOW we can successfully lodge a job after graduation!

I agree with OaklandAs......and somehow I feel that the decision for regular cycle will start coming in February begining.....it will not be as late as march or so..........any idea as to results for NYU (nyu@nus shd start coming now)........

Hi everyone and my wishes for the New Year....i hope 2009 brings happiness and success to all of you.....

Hi all,
New here. I did not apply as an early bird. I've not received an email confirming that my application is complete. Anyone else wearing similar shoes, and worried about it?

Hey P.E.T.,
Yes, identical situation. No confirmation yet, no other word either. I suppose it'll all be churned out very soon.
Good luck.
Happy New Year.
