Not that I disagree with what has been stated re the strange timing of the statement, I am aware that Cambridge (which I presume could be the reference as the BCL is still available for application) do accept top applicants very early so they may well have already made 25 or so offers to current Oxbridge students or those from Harvard/Yale and the like who are on course for, or have already achieved, a first.

Hey, but looking at HRoak's achievements, I wouldn't be surprised that he got in early.

Nerx, my interest is in property law, more specifically trust law.
Oh I love trust as well! I was quite disappointed that we only spent half a term on it though here at the LSE, which is a great shame as I really like it. I hated land law though, boring covenants and easements yada yada yada...just not my cup of tea haha.

Jag, I have no idea about this. Did you do that as well?

In other words, the 2nd round of selection would have commenced even before the results of the first is fully published, am I right?

Even then, I think the 1st round of selections for LLM would have been already over by now. They had a meeting around 4th December and some decisions might have been made. It takes around a month (excluding holidays) for them to publish the decisions.
The 2nd round is now due on 14/15, I think.
Wow you're pretty resourceful I must say. May I know how do you know all this?

So, if we don't hear within the month, our application might be heard in the 2nd round. But there's still a chance that we might hear soon, haha.

Oh my, I just dream that I got accepted by Oxford, into Merton College. -_-"

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all coping with this wait.
I would imagine that the person who stated 'I'm in' is winding everyone up. As a matter of courtesy one would hope that a genuine candidate who takes the time to look at an online forum full of hopeful candidates would expand a little further. I wouldn't take much notice.
Alvin, that's one way to go to Oxford! If you sleep long enough you may graduate and be able to put BCL on your CV!

Well, if that's the case, I wouldn't mind sleeping a little longer to add Cambridge, Harvard and Yale to that list, haha.
Posted Jan 13, 2009 14:23
I would just stick to Oxford. The others would simply take up precious time that could be spent dreaming about Victoria's Secret models!

Ah, that's a good suggestion, hehehe.

Hey all,
Not a wind up, have received conditional offer for LLM. I needed my offer quickly and I wrote a cover sheet saying this on my application. I phoned up and they told me- haven't received formal letter yet. Good luck everybody!!
