I got news from Mcgill, I received an email saying that I have been recommended by the commitee, does it mean that i am almost admitted and the rest of the process is just formal? My application was complete on 15 January.

I just checked my status and it has changed to Recommended by Department. Please how long does it take to get the final decision on your application from the GPS? Phillippe and Giolia, your views will be much appreciated.

They say it might take from 2 to 6 weeks.

From what I heard, the GPS typically follows the Admission committee's decision. So hopefully, this is just formal...

Hey! I heard back from the GPS within a week of getting recommended, if that's any help. They may be a bit busier as they're further into the application process, so it may take longer. I saw my recommendation as an admission! The GPS doesn't go back on the Faculty's decisions; if they were to do so that would be rare. I'm saying this because I spoke to the Faculty inquiring the chances of my ring admitted after recommendation.

It is now official i am admitted! They sent me the decision within the week, and if i can reassure all the applicant who have been recommended, my application was quite short considering some requirements, therefore i think that recommendation leads to admission in 99% of the cases.

congrats, maxime.... How long did it take from the time you were recommended to receive the official offer?

I think Maxime Louis replied in his post that it took a week to get the official admission letter.

Hi! i was recommended last thursday and I had the admission decision yesterday! If it is not in a week it may be 10 days but not more! I really I think that if you are recommended it's okay! you can open the bottle of champagne!

Hi all, I am sorry for the absence (I have discussed my final thesis this week).
My experience can reassure some of you and confirm all that the others have already said: when you are recommended you are subtantially admitted. I have been recommended by the department and the day after I have received on Minerva the official documentation for admission.
I have not already paid the deposit of 300 dollars, I was waiting for more infos about fundings and supervisors ( as I will be in the thesis stream), but it seems to take a lot of time, and I have time to accept the offer until may 1st. So I think I will accept and take the risk. Is there someone who has already accepted?
Do you know something about the immigration process? I hope it will not take ages...
