McGill Admission 2013-2014

Hey!
I've just heard about this forum thanks to Shripad. Thank you btw :) It's indeed nice to see that we are on the same boat!

Like some of you, I also applied for the IASL LL.M (non thesis) program, and have no answer. As the anxiety is growing up everyday, i'm starting to dream about it!

I hope to get an answer soon!

Hi all,

I've been told by the IASL that my file seems complete but is on hold awaiting conversion of my grades from France to confirm my GPA score. They didn't send any emails requiring such translation. If I haven't ask, I still wouldn't know about it.

Does anyone know if we have to provide this information, or is it McGill itself that make the conversion?

Thanks in advance!

hi, everyone... It appears there's been a misunderstanding. Lol! When I called the admissions office, I asked for the status of my application. The lady asked me to check minerva and I informed her that the status on minerva has remained "ready for review" since february. So she checked for me and told me my file was currently been reviewed by the committee. I wasn't told that I have been recommended or is that what it means? I thought the school will contact you if u have been recommended!

aduke: if you are recommended by the Graduate Admissions Committee, they will communicate that decision via email. Afterwards, your MINERVA status should change from "Ready for Review" to "Recommended by the Department".

A friend of mine who got admitted 2 years ago, received the answer in May. Let's just be patient, and cross fingers ;-)

Patience, I´m sure they will send the Letters of Admission. You just need to have faith. Anyway, you can send an email to consult about the process to grad.law@mcgill.ca. Good luck to all!

How important are the recommendation letters in all this? Will submitting more than two help? Will having LSE alumni as recommenders help? As first two were from my institute.

I don't know what's their value. As required, I provided two from academic referees, plus another one from my mentor in Washington,DC. I couldn't submit more than three anyway...

I think they look the application as a whole. In my case, 3 letters were submitted. One of them is from a professor from my university and two more from people of my Work.
