I think they refered to your application in which you applied for LLM with no concentration. I do see people pursuing this LLM in AY 2009/10

I still dint hear from anybody about scholarship for this AY 2010/11 till now. As far as I know it is very limited.
Have you received your admission yet? And for which concentration?

Any idea if NUS permits deferral of admissions to the next yr? Does it have any option like that?

Hey guys, anybody else got admission to CFS? I wonder to know how you guys r preparing for tuition fee and accommodation? Any ideas as yet?
Posted Apr 08, 2010 06:09
Yes. I also got through in CFS. Even I was wondering when we have to pay the tuition fees, and especially about when we have to start looking for accomodation and visa arrangements.
Posted Apr 08, 2010 08:09
I think we have to wait for the second email from NUS attached with detail documents for accommodation and student's pass guideline. It is expected to release in early May.

Hi Guys,
I can tell you how was with IBL, with any other program should be pretty the same. All information you will receive from NUS. Im giving it now as I know how good it is to know a bit more what will happen:
1) Visa
The NUS will register you in the immigration system (SOLAR). I get confirmation of registration on 18 May. When you will be registered by NUS you will have to login in the system, apply for the student permit and do appropriate payments therein. Your application will be reviewed within few days. Having that the NUS receive from immigration office IPA letter and will send it to you by email. The print of this email will be also your one-entry visa to Singapore. You will do rest of formalities in order to obtain student permit in Singapore.
2) Accommodation. Look at the NUS web - page for evans lodge and SIC. I was staying in SIC. Try to book it on May, the latest at the beginning of June. EL is closer to campus and a bit cheaper. SIC much faster with replaying for email. SIC is 20 minutes from the campus by foot.
3) Fee, at least IBL, we were supposed to do it during registration. NUS prefer bank draft. I paid by cash but you should confirm with NUS if they still accept such way of payment. I had no choice.
Once again:all Information you will receive from NUS by another email. So just be a bit patient
In case you have further question let me know. Cvp or me will try to answer (obviously if we know the answer) asap
Good luck!

Thx APG, ur info is really helpful indeed.
Regarding fee payment, my understanding is that I should also include the compulsory fee, arnd 500SGD, in the bank draft apart from tuition fee? Is it possible if I can pay this separate amount by cash?

I remember I paid last year only a tution fee which was 10.000 SGD. I was not required to pay anything else. I think that similar issue was discussed on LLM Guide last year. IBL had a bit different rules than other llm programs. All compulsory fees were included in the tution fee and no other fees were charged (but mind the living costs, accomodation etc, this obviously we paid separetely). Anyway I would check this with NUS since I don't remember it perfectly. You will get some information about mode of payment and the amount to be paid in further correspondence from NUS...

I guess the course fees for IBL is an inclusive fee, and only other the coursework degree students need to pay the Misc expenses in addition to the course fees.
Posted Apr 22, 2010 05:59
Hi Daishonin, u mean to say that for other concentrations, CFS for example, it is still required to pay for an extra amount of compulsory fee, around 500SGD? Uhm...its sad to hear then :)

people, i got a nasty shock right now. NUS has not received my email of confirmation and mailed me today that if i do not respond by monday, they will cancel admission. I sent the confirmation mail on 24th March. I am going to Bukit Timah tomorrow to check for myself. Has this happened to any one of you? My confirmation mails are giving me out of office autoreply and no one is picking up the phone.
Posted Apr 22, 2010 11:12
I didnt receive any other emails from NUS yet, i also got autoreply email of NUS upon sending the acceptance email, so dont know whether ur situation will happen to me.
I think its probably some mistake of mailing system sometime, you just go and check with them. Best of luck buddy.

My acceptance mail had also evoked an auto reply of 'out of office.' Hope all our acceptance mails have reached them.
I haven't even checked my mail to see whether I have received a similar deadline. I guess I should check my mailbox as well.
Samd, good that u r atleast there so atleast you can go and check, god forbid if it happens to any of us, we'll be totally dependent on phone and mail.
