HI Carlos,
I'm not sure about the University offering any programs for learning Chinese (not at least in bukit timah campus). However, there are places in Singapore where you can learn the language.
Anything that we can manage to learn in Singapore would definitely come in handy at Shanghai. I wonder if someone could teach me how to use the chopsticks :-) !!
Cheers

I had some practice here in Panama in a few restaurants, hahahaha.
It's a whole different culture, and I hope to get to know it.

Hi everyone!
Im from Turkey and now im living in Shanghai and learning Chinese ( Fudan University ) Im excepted like all u guys to NUS.
I'll be in The Int'l Business Law program and am so excited to go to Singapore in July!
I read the post about learning Chinese and i hope we can find sometime to study Chinese at the same time with the master coz i dont know if any of u speak chinese already but i really have hardtime to "write" it at least :) but its so exciting and i ldefinitely love it! but its hard, i mean really hard! and i definitely dont wanna forget all i learned so far.
Still, if there's somebody who's interested i can recommend Fudan, well, there r a lot of options in shanghai actually. since we'll be at ECUPL i dont know how it'll work but Fudan also provide tutors who can come to your place like everyday may be to teach to groups...i can get more info soon if u like...
hope to see u all soon in NUS ! Cheers!

Hi!
By the way, has anyone received yet the second email from NUS Law?
According to the offer letter, they say that we prospective students should expect an email from NUS in mid May.
But I have not recieved yet.
I am very nervous whether the mail will surely be sent to me.

Well, I'm in the IBL and I did not receive a 2nd email so far too. I tried to call NUS earlier but I was not able to get through and did not get a call back yet.

Im also IBL and havent recived the 2nd mail, I wrote to Mr Tan before and he told me that mails are going to be sent until the end of this week, if by friday im havent recived it yet I'll be getting worried.

I applied to IBL too and haven´t received the 2nd mail.
What concerns me is that we had previously been accepted (via 1st email) and the 2nd is intended for documentation only.
All that we can do is wait. (Let´s hope for a short time)

Dear Mr. Tan,
There is a form titled "Acceptance Record" which forms a part of the "Acceptance Booklet" and needs to be sent to NUS before 25th May. Could you please tell us, if something needs to be written by us under the heading "Student No." in this form, because neither the email nor any of the attachments specify any such number having been allocated. Your kind response is eagerly awaited.
Sincerely

I think we've to leave it in blank.
We have an application number which is already specified on the letters, but remember that we are not yet enrolled at NUS. ;-)
Cheers,
Luca

In response to the query above, yes, please leave that blank. That is your university matriculation number which will be issued to you upon your registration.
Official offers are still being sent out, so for those who have not heard from us, please be patient :)

Does anyone know whether we can send the Form of Acceptance for IBL by post along with the Acceptance Records or do we have to send it by fax or e-mail only........
And do we have to take the medical examinations in our place or can we take them in Singapore.....

What is the 'Acceptance booklet'? Is this something that is sent in the second letter?
Mr. Tan, thank you for your reassurance. It makes the wait less stressful.

When we send the forms to NUS, does it have to be all in one package or can the be sent separately (before May 27th)?

I know that the acceptance form can be sent via email, can the rest of the forms be sent via email or do the hard copies have to be sent also? does it have to be by the same date than the acceptance form?
