There´s another issue that I´m concerned about.

How it will be our calendar of classes. We are different from the other programs because of our trip to Shanghai. I only know that there´s two months in Singapore and the rest in Shanghai, but when specifically, what days?

This information will only be sent to students accepting our offer, after the deadline for acceptances is over. In the meantime, all students from civil law jurisdictions have been advised that classes for the IBL common law introductory subjects will start in the week of 13 July (Note: this applies only to the IBL programme, not the other programmes, which commence on 3 August).

For those in the IBL programme, you are thus advised to arrive on 10 July or even earlier if you wish.

this should help you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shanghai#Geography_and_climate

we in the last batch of IBL had a very nice and warm October, followed by a more and more colder climate

the wikipedia article gives you a good impression on how different the weather can be. one day freezing cold, the next mild again.

part of the experience.

cheers

Hello Mr. Tan

I know you wrote before that we should wait but could you please give us some additional information about our arrial to Shanghai; at least an approximate date...

Because i have to arrange it with the landlord of the flat that i've found and i also would like to book my flight (from shanghai to singapore) as round trip, which would be more convenient for me...i really need to know the date now.

Regards,
Thank you.

I was just wondering if anyone knows when we will get our NUS online ID details so that we can look at the off campus accomodation system?

I'm wondering when would be getting the IPA. I submitted my application on 21st May. SOLAR still shows my status as "IPA- Pending Issuance Fee"... does is take longer than 2 weeks for the application to be processed?

My situation was the same "IPA- Pending Issuance Fee", though once I made the 90 SGD payment by using e-NETS, then my SOLAR status became to be "Approved".
When I called ICA in order to query what "IPA- Pending Issuance Fee" means, an official of ICA said it means SOLAR procedure does not complete. She also said that it does not complete until making the payment.
When you use the e-NETS, you have to have a credit card or an ATM card of some Singaporean local banks or City Bank.
You are also advised to release pop up block of your Internet Explorer when using e-NETS. If you do not release it, you will not be able to complete your payment.

You have to pay in order to finish the procedure.

After that, NUS will obtain all the IPAs and send them to us via email. That's what they told me by mail.

Hello,
1. does anybody know whether we may do the medical examination after we arrive to Singapore (I'm arriving on 8 July) or should we make them earlier. I'm interested with the pre-enrolment medical examination? till when we may do them? is it necessary to have them done before 13 July or not?

2. Does anybody booked any place in Singapore? any hostel etc? Could you write the conditions and prices?
thanks!

Hello, I am an NUS LLM student of AY 2008-2009. I am posting for those who are coming this August.

I guess many of you are now looking for your places to live in Singapore. As I plan to stay in Singapore for another year, I am now looking to rent a whole unit at Springdale Condo, which location wise is very convenient to law school in Bukit timah. There are some past year students living there.

I am renting the whole unit just to make sure that we don't need to live with the owner and we raletively enjoy ourselves.

I am now looking for two flatmates, each of you will have a room of your own and a private bathroom. I am posting here to save agent fees for all of us. I would prefer females as I am also female, however, male students are also welcome.

If you are interested, please sent me private messages and tell me your budget. Thank you very much.

Hi All,

I've been having trouble with the Solar Application. I paid yesterday, and the status said that they had accepted the payment, but today when i went to look, it said pending issuance fee again. Then i paid again, and it says approved. In the remarks it says that if the application is successful, i have to liase with NUS for a letter of approval... What is this letter of approval?

Your payment status is the same as mine.
Then, I think that the letter of approval means the IPA, In-
Principal Approval (IPA) letter. It will be sent to us via email in mid June.
It is stated in the page 2, paragraph 3 of the official offer letter.

i guess, its quite common then to find the status as payment... pending, even though the payment has been made. But the question is whether this discrepancy in the status would affect the IPA letter being sent by NUS.
