Hey all!
Just wondering if you have heard from NUS since sending the acceptance letters...
I haven't heard from them since they sent me a mail confirming receipt, and no replies to the emails i've sent since then either... Should i be worried?
Cheers

Hey all,
Has anyone who has received admission to NUS LLM been told about the fee structure for the academic year 2009/2010? It is already 18th June and if we have to be in Singapore by July end it will be extremely difficult to arrange for the funds. The NUS site is not updated with respect to the fees and we cant go to the banks for loan with a fee structure which is for the AY 2008/2009 !!!
I have been given an extension for the acceptance of Offer pending any information vis-a-vis the fee structure but if it goes on like this my SOLAR application etc will be delayed.
I hope some one knows more than i do right now!!!

The last admission document sent by NUS had a section for the fee issue, point 7 to be precise.

To all NUS Law prospective students for the 2009/2010 academic year:
1. This is to confirm that the tuition fees for the 2009/2010 academic year (commencing July/August 2009) will remain the same as in the previous academic year. Please refer to http://law.nus.edu.sg/prospective/postgrad/fees.htm for details.
2. You will also be receiving an email in late June/early July advising you of course selection and other registration matters. For those who have successfully registered for SOLAR, we will also be emailing you your In-Principle Approval (IPA) letters which you can use for entering Singapore. You would not need to go to a Singapore embassy for a paper visa.
Thank you for your patience.

Hi, all!
I received IPA letter from Law admission, today. How about you?
For your information, if you have already been assigned FIN No. (you can find it on your SOLAR web site), you should have been approved and will soon receive IPA letter.
By the way, how and when should we pay for the tuition fee? I could not find the information on the web site which Mr Tan said above.
Cheers!

Your fees will only become due after you arrive in Singapore and register for our programmes. In the next few weeks, we will provide specific information on transferring the relevant amounts by bank draft into NUS's bank account.
The details will differ depending on the exact LLM specializations (as the different programmes have different fee structures). For now, you do not have to send any amounts yet. Of course, if you are obtaining a bank loan, you may want to get the amounts credited to your accounts first. If the bank insists on making payment direct to NUS, please wait for our account instructions.

The reporting date for IBL students from non-common law jurisdictions (who will be taking the common law introductory courses) will be Thursday 9th July. This will be stated in the email notification that you will be receiving this and next week. For students from common law jurisdictions, the reporting date will be throughout the week of 3rd August.

For our travel to Singapore and Shanghai, what vaccines should we get. Is there any regulation on the matter?

No, there are no compulsory vaccines.

Dear Sir,
Are there any changes in the mandatory miscelleneous fees for this year? Furthermore, is S $ 11.7.70 the only amount which we have to pay for insurance or do we have to pay additionally, an amount with respect to insurance ?
There was, alongwith the Offer of Admission, a Group Outpatient Specialist Insurance and Group Personal Accidental Insurance. Is it mandatory to take these insurances and pay for all that?

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me the living expenses (food, books etc.) in Singapore and also the cost of off campus accomodation? I saw the links to evans lodge and singapore international campus but the latter seems to be a bit expensive. Is anyone considering places like Evans Lodge?
Thanks

Hi there,
I also contacted with both Evans and SIC, and SIC is expensive you're right. But evans answered me as they didnt have the room type that i wanted available... so i feel like i will have to stay in SIC :(
One of my singapourian friends advised me that the other hostels listed on the NUS website as `near to campus` are not near at all...
so if i cant find an apart until then, i will choose SIC i guess.
Did you reserve your room in Evans or SIC?
I recommend you to contact with them asap if not.
Good luck to everyone!
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks for the information. I mailed Evans Lodge today but i didnt get any reply from them. Now, i think they dont have any rooms available that is why they are not replying!! By the way, what were the room rentals in Evans Lodge?
Are there no on-campus accommodations available for us?
Till now i have not booked my room at any place. I just wanted to know the room rentals for my bank loan and also to book a room thereafter.
By the way, how much are the living expenses (food, books, etc) ?

Hey,
I suppose we have to pay our fees once we reach Singapore, at the time of enrollment. Mr. Tan said as follows: "Your fees will only become due after you arrive in Singapore and register for our programmes.
