Application Deadlines for Full-Time LL.M. Programs in the US - Fall 2017

Many United States law schools now accepting applications for LL.M. programs beginning in 2017

Here we list application deadlines for LL.M. programs at US law schools for fall 2017 admission.

The schools were chosen based on the most-visited university programs on LLM GUIDE and other top programs.

Pay close attention to differing deadlines for domestic and international applicants, as well as for students who wish to apply for scholarships.

Some law schools are still yet to announce their LL.M. application deadlines yet; we'll update this list as more schools add their deadlines.

New York University (NYU) School of Law

  • Foreign Credential Applicants: December 15
  • Domestic Credential Applicants: April 3 (except for following programs)
  • Deadline, LL.M. in Legal Theory: February 1
  • Deadlines, LL.M. in Taxation: February 1 (priority scholarship deadline); April 3 (final)
  • Deadline, part-time programs: June 1

UC Berkeley School of Law

  • Application deadline, LL.M: January 10

USC Law School

  • Application deadline, LL.M. with application fee waiver: March 1
  • Applications accepted on a rolling basis until May 1

Georgetown University Law Center

  • Application deadlines, LL.M. (foreign-trained attorneys): November 11, 2016 (early action), February 10, 2017 (regular action)
  • Application deadlines, LL.M. (US-trained attorneys): January 6 (early action,) February 24 (regular action)

Columbia Law School

  • Early review LL.M. application deadline: November 1
  • Regular admission LL.M. application deadline: December 15 (Regular Admission)

Harvard Law School

  • The final deadline is December 1

UCLA School of Law

  • LL.M. deadline: February 15 (through LSAC)

Stanford Law School

  • Application deadline, LL.M.: December 2

Boston University School of Law

  • International applicants: April 15
  • Domestic applicants: July 31

UPenn (Penn Law)

  • LL.M. application deadlines: November 15 (early notification) or December 15
  • Early application deadline: September 1

George Washington (GW Law)

  • Deadlines: March 15 (international); May 1 (domestic)

Northwestern University School of Law

  • LL.M. application deadline: January 15

Cornell Law School

  • LL.M. application deadline: December 15

Fordham University School of Law

  • LL.M. application deadline: March 1

Duke Law School

  • LL.M. application deadline: January 20

University of Chicago Law School

  • Rolling deadlines (preferred December 15)

American University - Washington College of Law

  • Spring intake deadlines: International Students - October 1; US Citizen/Permanent Resident Students - November 1
  • Fall intake deadlines: International Students - May 1
  • Domestic Students - July 1

University of Washington, Seattle (UW Law School)

  • Deadline, international students: February 1 (fall only)
  • Deadline, US students: May 1 for the fall semester

University of Hawaii at Manoa - William S. Richardson School of Law

  • Applications are considered on a rolling basis, from October 1 to May 1

UC Davis School of Law

  • Application deadline, LL.M.: January 10 (encouraged); applications accepted until mid-August

Yale Law School

  • Application deadline, LL.M.: December 1

Cardozo School of Law

  • Deadlines: June 15 (Fall); Rolling admissions begin September 1, December 1 (Spring)

University Virginia School of Law

  • LL.M. application deadline: February 1

West Virginia University

  • Application deadlines: March 1

Vanderbilt University Law School

  • LL.M. application deadline: April 1

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis
  • Deadline, scholarships and financial aid consideration: March 1

  • Applications: Rolling, with applications for priority processing due by March 15

  • LL.M. application deadline: January 31

  • Application deadlines: December 1 (early decision); rolling admissions (regular review)

Penn State Law

  • Rolling applications, preferred June 1

Loyola University Chicago

  • Fall enrolment deadline: July 1
  • Online LL.M. deadline: August 1

Tulane Law School

  • Application deadline, LL.M.: May 1
  • Application deadline, SJD: April 1

University of Houston Law Center

  • Fall intake deadlines: March 1
  • Spring intake deadline: October 1

Loyola Law School Los Angeles

  • March 1

  • Rolling admissions. Priority deadlines: June 1 (Fall), November 1 (Spring), April 1 (Summer)

New York Law School (NYLS)

  • LL.M. application deadline: March 1 (for priority consideration)

Tufts University - Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy

  • Deadlines: November 15 (early notification); January 10 (regular); March 1 (late deadline)

University of San Francisco - School of Law (USF)

  • Deadline, LL.M. in Tax: February 15
  • Deadline, LL.M. in IP and Technology Law / LL.M. in International Transactions and Comparative Law: February 16

John Marshall Law School (Chicago)

  • Deadline, Fall: August 1 (MJ in Real Estate - Fall Deadline: June 10)
  • Deadline, Spring: December 1
  • Deadline, Summer: May 1

University of Minnesota Law School

  • LL.M. and SJD application deadline: April 1

Pepperdine University School of Law

  • Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and need to be submitted at least four months prior to the intended start date. Courses start in the Fall (mid-August), Spring (early January) and Summer (late May) terms.

Emory University School of Law

  • Apply by April 15 to start in August. Applications are considered for fall on a space available basis through June.

Florida Coastal School of Law

  • Rolling applications

Pace Law School

  • Rolling applications, but apply early for scholarship consideration

Chapman University - Fowler School of Law

  • Rolling applications: March 1 (priority), June 30 (final)

Boston College Law School

  • Rolling applications: April 30th (Fall) but well before the April 30 preferred, take the LSAT no later than December
