Congratulations!!! Wow! That's really something!!! for i've been told that there's nothing like studying Law at Yale!!.

Wow! Congratulations!!!!!
Did anyone else hear anything so far? Does Yale announce all of it's decisions on the same day? Should I expect a phonecall rather than an email? And what if rejected?
Anyone who knows?

I, too, received a phone call from Yale today. As I aspire to be a teacher of law, Yale is my first choice. I was told on the phone that they will send email today and acceptance-package by mail during the next week. It difficult to describe how happy I am. Congratulations to all other who have been accepted to Yale, and good luck to those who are still waiting for the decision.

I am 29 year old Finnish lawyer, and currently writing my doctoral dissertation on comparative legal history. I had solid merits; LSAC's evaluation was superior, TOEFL 293, recommendation letters stating that I am one of most talented doctoral students in the history of our faculty (at least that has been said in some earlier recommendations), Fulbright scholarship etc. On the hand, none of my recommenders have gone to Yale or any other US law school, I haven't published that much, I have no "real" experience practicing law and so forth. In short, I wasn't a stellar applicant. Applying from a Nordic country might have given me a slight edge as there are less applicants than from, say, Germany or Brazil. It's impossible to say why I was chosen, there must be many equally good applicants. I have one hunch, though. Most lawyers applying for an American law school are, I believe, interested in either commercial law or international law. Emphasizing my interest in American legal history might have given me some leverage over those whose interests are more conventional. These are all hypotheses, though, no single reason was given for my acceptance when they called (and I didn't ask).

Congratulations... Can only imagine what it is like to be admitted to Yale. Best of Luck to both of you.

hi. they called me up and said an e-mail will follow. also, that i will receive an admission packet by the 20th. as for my credentials, they are nothing great. am still in college. do not have work ex except for internships. have worked on a few research projects for the Government of India and have a few publications. I am chief editor of our law review. top of my class. one of my internships was with a judge of the Supreme Court of India, who also gave me quite a decent recommendation. other recommendations were from my profs, none of whom have studied (or are possibly known) at yale...as for my career goals, i am interested in teaching and in policy type work...i guess that about sums up my credentials

I am just guessing, but I think there is a strong tradition of finnish scholars and publicists producing important comparative and international legal scholarship. They may anticipate you being part of that tradition.

I just got a phone call - in at Yale too. wooohooooooooooo!!!

Congratulations to all those who received a phonecall from Yale today. Your success guys is great indeed!
To those who did not receive a call today: Do we still stand a chance? I believe that all the acceptances were released today. As we know, the places are slightly more than 20 and admitted students could be notified in one business day. What do you think?
Best of luck, even at this 'very' moment.

Fortunately enough, I made it to YLS.. Cannot believe it still.
Congrats to everyone accepted!
One question - how do you deal with financing the course? Any advice on sources of funding apart from YLS?
Thanks a lot in advance.

Congrats to all admitted to Yale!
Incredibly impressive.
I always think all you guys here in this forum are great. Since some law schools began to send out admissions. I keep hearing good news here!
Yale's program is really small, and we already see so many admitted scholar here:) Impressive:)
I hope after all this painful decision waiting process, we all can keep in touch. Maybe meet in the US or in the future.
It would be my great honor to know all of you:)
Regretfully I did not get a phone call from them, that made my chance looks bad. Now only got Duke in hand, still, I am satisfied and keep waiting for other decisions.
Congrats again to all of you:)

Congratulations to those of you already in at Yale.
Any further news? I e-mailed the Graduate Admissions Office just a couple of minutes ago asking for details, namely if all admission notifications have been made by now. I hope not, but I'm loosing my optimism...
Good Luck to all of you. Thanks.
