it has been two weeks since my application package was delivered to their office. However, I still have not got any confirmation whether my materials are complete or NOT.
Now it is already December 2...passing the deadline now...
why still no confirmation from NYU???

Hi lawthinker,
I applied to NYU in the end of october. It took them less than a week to send me a confirmation email stating that my appl is complete and will be forwarded to the Admission officers. Maybe it was a little early and they had less appls to process...I am not sure but I would advise you to give them a call and verify it.
Good luck!

Same problem here! I sent my package by registered letter (not UPS). It SHOULD have arrived aroune Nov 14. And still no news for me neither...
I didn't use the LSAC system. That might a reason for the delay. But my guess is that NYU is probably overwhelmed with applications at this time of the year...

lawthinker, are you a domestic applicant or overseas?
NYU requires every overseas applicant to use LSAC this year.

Oakland, I submitted a waiver request...but I am sure now that it will delay my application

It would be good if it only "delays" your application, as waivers are never automatically granted--I know some fellow applicants got rejected and were forced to use LSAC.

I agree with Oakland. Starting from this year NYU requires all foreign applicants to use LSAC service. I even called them up to verify this information. Actually, this was the main reason for me to go for LSAC.
Lawthinker, you might want to call NYU and confirm it as well...though it's just a suggestion...
Good luck!

oh, if the waiver cannot be granted, it is horrible....

Dear All,
I am an overseas student and have applied without using LSAC and have received a confirmation that my application is complete......Even their application says that if applicant applies for NYU and NYU@NUS, he/she MAY use LSAC....it reads as under...
1). LL.M. applicants with foreign education credentials
wishing to be considered exclusively for NYU@NUS, or
for both locations of study, may use the LSAC Credential
Assembly Service. However, because of time constraints,
we recommend that these applicants instead send the
transcript form, official transcripts (and translations, if
required) and documentation of class rank directly to
the Office of Graduate Admissions.
I hope I have not defaulted by not using LSAC.........

Dear lawthinker....thanks for ur confirmation....i got so scared reading earlier posts which said LSAC is necessary.....thank god......

NYU does grant LSAC waivers for international applicants. I got one! I really think that the confirmation e-mail delay is due to this. At least, let's hope so...
Posted Dec 04, 2008 21:46
How did you get this waiver?
Posted Dec 04, 2008 22:33
I sent an e mail asking if it was ok for me to not use LSAC because of "financial constraints"...
Posted Dec 08, 2008 20:56
Hey guys
i sent in my application at the end of November and I asked for the waiver to use LSAC because of financial constraints.
I just got my confirmation email today so don't despair it's on its way!!
Good luck everyone xoxo

Don't worry, I personally delivered my papers and they told me that there wasn't any problem.

Hi Guys, any update?
The confirmation email from NYU was sent to me. I don't use the LSAC service.
