I understand the anxiety and nervousness, we are all sailing in the same boat anyways i actually wanted to know about candidates who have applied to their early review program.....it was assumed that they would have started coming out with their early review results atleast by mid to end Jan.....

keep waiting thats the only thing that we all can do

How can we check the status of our apps?

I dont think they have a tracking system. Their website only says as under and as i guess Feb 1, 2007 is an erratum:

''LL.M. and LL.C.M. applicants who submit a completed *online* application prior to December 1, and ensure that all supporting materials have been delivered as well, will be eligible for Early Notification. The Committee will review their application file and they will be notified via e-mail of its decision -- admit, reject, hold or waitlist -- by February 8.

The standard deadline for all other LLM and LLCM applications is February 1, 2007. We cannot guarantee notification of a decision by any particular date, but most applicants are contacted by mid-March.

Applications for the S.J.D. Program are due April 15, and applicants are generally contacted regarding their status in mid-May.

Applicants to all programs are notified of their status via e-mail at the address identified as the applicant's primary contact address.''

Hi Everyone! I am currently an LL.M student at Penn and I remember that last year I was the same nervous about the same thing. I am pretty sure that you have to wait for at least 10 more days before they send out the first letters! Good luck to all of you! Waiting for you next summer in Philly!

Thanks 8EIOSPIT7!!
Might you tell us if they release all the notices at the same time or they send the notices in diferent days (i.e., fom Feb. 1 to Feb. 8)

Could you remember when they first start to release notices?

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys
My online application was completed in late Nov. I applied for the Early Notification and all my materials were delivered to Penn Law via courier by 1st Dec. However, the transcript and recommendation box are still not checked online.
I wrote them an e-mail regarding that in first week of Jan and they haven't replied at all..

Now what should I do?

Have you not used LSAC for your transcripts? That can give some problems otherwise.

No. I havent used LSAC and I didnt find it mandatory for Penn Law. Even assuming that, the recommendation column is also not checked.

Well, if you've sent your recommendations in the same package as all the other documents it is weird indeed. Otherwise, check with your recommenders.

Its not weird at all, coz i have sent them everything in the same package viz. 2 reco letters, transcript and written statement for toefl waiver and they have received all of it coz there is a tick mark in front of all the boxes....and yes I also didnt use the LSAC services!

So I recommend that you call them directly if you dont see them being reflected in your online application status form after getting a confirmation from your recommenders that they have sent the same to the school..... ...Its your application at the end of the day so find out why is it not appearing as received!

I just received the following e-mail:

"Thank you for applying to Penn Law's LLM program as part of the Early Notification pool.

After careful consideration, the International Programs Committee has now made final determinations -- "admit" or "reject" -- with regard to a large percentage of candidates from around the world.

We have, however, received what is probably an unprecedented number of applications from what is certainly an unprecedented number of countries. Those applications reflect a tremendous breadth of qualifications and talents. The process of selection has been, accordingly, very difficult.

Consequently, the Committee felt in a number of instances that it could not take definitive action on a candidate's qualifications without reference to the general applicant pool. Your application was included in this group.

The Committee will now continue to hold your completed file while it undertakes its review of the general application pool. We anticipate taking action on all remaining applications -- "admit", "reject", or "wait list" -- before March 1.

Please be assured that we understand the stress of continued uncertainty and that we will do our best to expedite the process as much as possible. If you wish to withdraw your name from further consideration, and we hope you do not, please visit us at the web address below"
