got rejected today:( but you guys hang in there, good luck to all still waiting...

I sent them a fax to remain on the waiting list (unbelievable you can't respond by email...).
Anyway, if they don't consider the waiting list before April 15th, we will probably not have a response before the end of April or May. I don't think I (and probably many of us) can wait that long.

They are accepting waitlist response forms by email - I just scanned the document in and responded to the decision notification email. I got a confirmation today that they had received it. Don't fancy my chances of the waitlist opening up though to be honest!

Maybe NYU was right for not offering me admission in the first place - I have no idea how I ended up thinking it was only possible by regular mail or fax :)
Not many hope either for the waiting list opening up, but I may be satisfied with what I already have.

For all of my fellow domestic applicants, don't lose hope yet:
Applicants with domestic education credentials who complete their application by the appropriate deadline will receive decisions regarding the full-time LL.M. program in New York City as they are made. All domestic applicants to full-time programs will receive a decision no later than late June.
The Committee on Graduate Admissions recognizes that law schools operate on different calendars, and sometimes applicants must decide on whether to commit to another institution before hearing from NYU School of Law; we regret any inconvenience this may cause you.

Guys, I am really sorry to share this bad news, I was rejected at 2:06pm. Well, I hope it is for the best. Good luck for those still waiting.
Posted Mar 24, 2011 23:55
I'm sorry to hear that. Did they give you a reason?
Posted Mar 25, 2011 05:35
I was rejected too and the reason given was that my TOEFL score didn't meet the NYU's requirements.
"The Committee has asked me to inform you that they were impressed with your academic credentials but found your TOEFL total score and/or at least one of your subsection scores below that considered necessary for admission to the Graduate Division.
If you take the TOEFL examination again and improve your score to our minimum requirements, we invite you to reapply.
We appreciate your interest in NYU School of Law and hope to receive an application from you in the future."
I wonder whether every rejected applicant have got the same encouragement to re-apply. Please kindly share yours. It will help me a lot in self-evaluating. Thanks and wish you guys the best:)

I just wrote an email to nyu asking if they could make a decision on my app. I'm waiting to hear about the ils program but since I'm a domestic applicant they might not tell me until June! Now I have an offer from cls and have to give them an answer by April 8th. What are ppls thoughts? Do you think they'll answer? Should I just stick w cls?

You know that NYU has a great reputation on International Law, however, CLS is great overall. Give NYU a chance to answer your request. It shouldn't be difficult since they seem to be almost done with international applicants.
Let us know if they answer. Good luck!
