I would agree, but if the best applicants were to be selected first we would have already heard of at least someone with a scholarship, don't you think?

I agree, but I think that they also try to admit students from different countries, because NYU is a community of remarkable diversity. So, the less people are admitted from your country the more chances you have.

Yes, but the people here don't represent the entirety of the NYU admitted fall 2014 student body. Some of them don't even know about this site.
What we have here is but a partial statistical database.

Maybe alphabetical order is how they go? *kind of hoping for that since I haven't heard anything and the requirements list has three elements in it*

Guys, dont you think that would make more sense if they made their decision according to the date the application was completed?
The first ones that sent their applications were the first ones to receive a decision. We have many admissions so far according to the thread, and yet one rejection... If they were to decide first the best students, why would one be rejected?

The rejected that early are the ones who didn't stand a chance as per NYU criteria (mind you, the criteria are relevant to the school. there aren't any global criteria. I know a friend who got rejected at USC but got accepted at Columbia.)

The early accepted are the outstanding ones. The ones who still didn't receive their decision, are one of those good competitors, that are praying for a lesser file to be compared to in a pool of good applicants.

And no, I have been sent a mail that my file is ready and under review from november, and still nothing. So the chronology of application is no factor here.

My requirements list went blank - I have no idea what that even means.

I hope you're wrong :) This is mainly due to the fact that last year, they've also strarted sending decisions on Friday anfd next Thursday one girl wrote a post stating that she got her ad e-mail and was awarded full Vanderbilt scolarship... So let's not lose hope yet, it's only been 2 working days :)

What is f*cking wrong that my requirement list remains w/ 3 lousy lines !!!!!!!! Rrrrrhhhh

My application was completed in January 14.
