NYU LL.M. Applicants 2023-24

July

Here here!
I am seeking a seat to NY bar exam.
I got admission from Georgetown (with scholarship) of D.C. and Penn Carey of Philadelphia and paid my first deposits to both programs.
Also I am in the waiting list of Columbia and craving NYU’s decision.

Hi guys! Could I please get your opinions on choice of school?
My TOP school and program of choice would be NYU's LLM in international legal studies. However, since I still haven't heard back from them I am now setting my sights on the options I do have, the dilemma of which is between UC Berkeley and Georgetown.

Both are great schools but offer different pro's for international law (Georgetown being located in Washington DC close to many intl organisations and thinktanks etc). Berkeley's overall atmosphere attracts me more and I know it's generally ranked higher (even though Georgetown's international law program is ranked quite well as well). Berkeley also has the more progressive courses and feel than Georgetown does, since Washington is a quite sterile setting and in my opinion GULC seems to lack some character, located outside of Georgetown in the city centre. Academically both are great but for the overall experience of the LLM i want to make sure I make the right decision. BTW - i've gotten an extension on both tuition deposit deadlines. I did receive a substantial scholarship from GULC and I know it's course offerings in international law are broader than Berkeley's. I also plan on taking the NY bar exam. Was anyone faced with the same situation and perhaps have a clear indication of which school would be better to choose in my situation?

Here's to still hoping we all still receive positive news from NYU!!!!

Ok literally in the same boat as July - exactly the same on all fronts.
decided to pay both deposits for Penn and GT because I couldn’t fully make up my mind yet! Now I have until 1 May to really decide! I hope NYU gets back to us soon.. (next week would be good)

Has anyone rejected their ILS spot so we atleast expect a place at all? It would be very kind if someone could share the same.

I got admission from Columbia LLM program, so I might go for it. Good luck to other great candidates!

Hi everyone, does anyone have any idea about whether NYU LLM offers deferrals? And does it require any extraordinary reasons for seeking it? I've been admitted to ILS, but I do not have the funds to finance it and I was thinking maybe I could defer it and find some funding or at least earn a little. Thanks

Still no news... Does anyone know the deposit deadline? I think we may probably get some feedback from NYU after those who got admitted first respond to their offers.

I just got admitted to the Traditional LL.M.! The enrollment deadline is April 17 for international students who did not apply for scholarships. They said the deadline should be provided in the decision regarding scholarships for foreign students who applied. I have applied, but no news so far (despite being skeptical that any scholarships are available at this stage). Anyway, I'm already enrolled in another program and should reject my place. Good luck to the applicants still waiting for a response!

Congrats on your admission. Is there a WhatsApp group for ILS track?

Hi all, just received an offer for the Master in International Legal Studies. Do you believe that receiving an offer in the first wave might be an indication of a positive outcome regarding scholarship applications?

Has anyone received any rejections/waitlists for corporation laws?
Also, has anyone rejected or will reject their corporation laws spot so we at least expect a place at all?

Please share if anyone has any information!

Hi! Foreign lawyer here. I received my acceptance (Traditional LLM) on March 2 (tail end of the first wave of acceptances) and received a decision on my financial aid request on April 6, with an April 24 deadline to confirm.

I think a number of us heard back re financial aid on the same day so there should be acceptances coming up soon once those attending other schools fail to confirm on April 24.

I have a few friends still waiting on acceptance/waitlist/rejection decisions so any information on decisions the past few days/weeks would greatly help. Keep the info coming, guys! Best of luck to all and I hope the long wait will be worth it for everyone!

For those admitted until now, did you receive anything in the mail or did you get a second email confirming your enrolment deadline?
i was admitted this week but I had applied for a scholarship. My admission letter doesn’t have an enrolment deadline on it so I’m a bit unsure. I already emailed the NYU grad team but if any of you had the same please let me know!

Since you applied for a scholarship , when a decision regarding your scholarship is made , they will inform you for the result together with the enrolment deadline
Till then you have nothing to worry about1f642
