Here here!
I am seeking a seat to NY bar exam.
I got admission from Georgetown (with scholarship) of D.C. and Penn Carey of Philadelphia and paid my first deposits to both programs.
Also I am in the waiting list of Columbia and craving NYU’s decision.
Hi guys! Could I please get your opinions on choice of school?
My TOP school and program of choice would be NYU's LLM in international legal studies. However, since I still haven't heard back from them I am now setting my sights on the options I do have, the dilemma of which is between UC Berkeley and Georgetown.
Both are great schools but offer different pro's for international law (Georgetown being located in Washington DC close to many intl organisations and thinktanks etc). Berkeley's overall atmosphere attracts me more and I know it's generally ranked higher (even though Georgetown's international law program is ranked quite well as well). Berkeley also has the more progressive courses and feel than Georgetown does, since Washington is a quite sterile setting and in my opinion GULC seems to lack some character, located outside of Georgetown in the city centre. Academically both are great but for the overall experience of the LLM i want to make sure I make the right decision. BTW - i've gotten an extension on both tuition deposit deadlines. I did receive a substantial scholarship from GULC and I know it's course offerings in international law are broader than Berkeley's. I also plan on taking the NY bar exam. Was anyone faced with the same situation and perhaps have a clear indication of which school would be better to choose in my situation?
Here's to still hoping we all still receive positive news from NYU!!!!
