It´s funny, isn´t it? You say the Tax guys are the top dogs and I (a tax lawyer myself) think the Corporate guys are in a best position...

Hi, ivan. Just wanna add. I was told yesterday that all Tax LLMs (not americans) who studied at NYU last year and wanted to stay in New York landed a job their the last fall.

I applied to the Trade Regulation program. My interest lies mainly in international trade laws, and so ive applied to NYU, Penn, Mich, Cornell and Harvard.

I know, most would say georgetown, but i guess it didnt suit my purpose!

Any thoughts on the future with an LLM in international trade?

Hi New Yorker,
Just to tell you that I heard the same thing. Actually, I know a bunch of the Tax and International Tax graduates from last year´s class, and they told me that whoever wanted to stay, managed to stay. However, it is also true that some of them had to wait until April to secure a job here.
Cheers

Hi everyone,
Yesterday I participated in a meeting organized by the Hauser Global Law Program whose purpose was to gather the opinions of some international LLMs about the orientation week, LLM program, etc. I asked them if it was true that they would make their decisions public on 1 April (my point was that it would generate time constraints with regard to the visa application process) and the answer was that the decisions will probably be made public before that date. Therefore, check regularly your e-mail account - you may have a surprise...

I hope you are not cracking jokes to make us panick!
Surely, it should be a big surprise that april 1 has been brought forward to march 1.

Any other person with similar news?

Hi Isabelle,

I applied in mid-November (about the 20th) for the LL.M. International Legal Studies. Currently I'm in my last year of law at the Free University of Brussels.

Hey, I got mine this morning too. Was sent 21 February by UPS. I applied in late November. No scholarship, though, except for the possibility of applying for the 10 grand award. Hm...

THANKS A LOT.

Congrats to all admitted!

I'm wondering, to login to the admitted students area, is your ID number the same as the one you received when you sent in your application?

(I'm holding out hope that I'm admitted, but haven't received a letter yet)

First of all, congrats to all those who got in!

According to their homepage, you can log in as follows:

User Name
If you are a Graduate (LL.M. or J.S.D.) applicant with no Social Security Number, your user name is the NYU School of Law-assigned Admissions Identification Number you received with your letter of admission (typed with no hyphens or dashes: 888XXXXXX).

Password
Your default password is your birth date (typed: mm/dd/yyyy). After your first login, you will gain the ability to change your password.

Congrats to all admitted!

Now all you need to know is whether the admissions number matches that of your application, and anyone should be able to take a shot. Haven't tried it (still waiting for a letter myself) - good luck and let us know!
