Well, as far as I know, you will have to wait way, way longer...NYU (Hauser) last year hasn't decided till April. Columbia, if not early review, has sent out the last decisions in late April or late May...

Thanks! Guess I'll have to secure my seat at Vanderbilt.

Hey guys,

I applied to NYU on December 1 and have still not received any confirmation e-mail about the completion of the application. Do they usually take that long to send the emails? I know they have received all my supporting documents by December 1 since I sent them via DHL and received a confirmation about the receipt.

I'm getting nervous about small details now.. Good luck to all!

@c_lawyer, It's only been a couple weeks. I think two or three is customary. I wouldn't panic just yet.. You have your receipt, so trust that things will be sorted.

Hey Finnis,

Thanks for your quick reply!

I continued to read the posts on the board and figured out that some people are still waiting as well, that's a relief!

I just received my application complete email. My last item, a letter of recommendation, was submitted electronically a few days ago.

I feel like now the real anxiety sets in. Do they always wait to make the first decisions until January? That seemed to be the trend from last year.

pterion, presuming it's been more than three weeks since everything's been submitted, i think it's reasonable to email/phone them to ask the status/make sure they have in deed received everything.

I just received the email confirming the completion.
I wished they could let us know about the admission/rejection
as soon as they review the application. Do we need to wait till the end of January? :(

The waiting is the worst part, isn't it? I don't know when the first decisions will come out. It seems like last year there were some decisions in December for the domestic tax program, which is the one I applied to. I'm not sure about the other programs. I am sure we'll hear something on here when people start to find out.

I haven't received an email indicating that my application is complete either. I emailed NYU to ask them and this is the response I got:

Thank you for contacting NYU School of Law.

We are unable to confirm the receipt of documents for applicants individually at this time. If you submitted your documents to LSAC, you can check the status of your report via their website.

If your recommendation letters have been submitted using our online recommendation system, you can check whether or not those letters have been submitted successfully.

For items sent through the mail, you can check with the service provider to see if your items were delivered.

We hope to be in contact regarding your application status soon.

Thank you,

This thread should start to get a little action. I can (happily) confirm that NYU has started releasing decisions for the domestic tax program! Keep an eye on your emails and good luck everyone!

Thanks for the update alwayswaiting - congratulations! I think I read somewhere that the tax program releases decisions earlier than the other programs. Does anyone know if that's right? I applied for the traditional LL.M.

Always, what were your stats if you don't mind me asking? I'm trying to gauge my odds here.

Clarity23, my stats were measurably worse than the ones you posted on here earlier and I was accepted so I wouldn't worry too much.

Did you have to submit your grades from Fall Semester? I guess I am just confused as to what is going on. Also, blobby, are you applying to the tax program?
