NYU Admission

Augusto

I have just received my admission letter (e-mail) - Intl Tax program.

It does not mention anything about scholarships.

Best of luck to all of you.

I also just got my admission email - General LLM. No mention of scholarships - does this mean there is no financial aid at all that I can apply for/get?

If you look on the website they say that they don't deliver fin aid after they have decided on admissions (since you were admitted maybe you can call them and send them an email to double check). However, this doesn't stop you from getting financial aid from other institutions, foundations etc.

Do you have a deadline in your admission email to accept the place? thanks and congrats!

Ok, thanks. I'll double check.

Deadline for acceptance (and paying deposit) is April 15.

@ Augusto: I also received the email from NYU but, after accessing the NYU website, the letter did not mention anything regarding scholarships.

Since some people that posted here mentioned they were accepted with Vanderbuilt and Hugo Grotius Scholarships, I believe that everyone that has received a simple "admission letter" will not get any financial aid.

is that correct?

if so that sucks cause the overall budget for 9 months at NYU is around USD 72 K...

Yes guys, those of us (including myself) who got a vanilla admission letter that does not mention any scholarship AND which has a relatively long period to accept (april15 for me as well, just compare with March 9 deadline for those who reported to have finaid) - and you will understand that WE ARE NOT GETTING MONEY FROM NYU)))

Since I generally have money (however, it is better not to spend where you can save) - I would go to CLS instead (which has the samó budget, but its CLS)

For those who haven't heard back from NYU (incl. myself), does it mean that the only possibility for us to get in is to fill in gaps left by the admission receivers who decide not to accept?

Of course not...do you think all 420 admissions have been sent yet?
It does mean that you have not been comprhensively reviewed or just not informed about the decision yet. That's it!

Do you think there is still a chance to get a scholarship from NYU for such people who haven't yet heard from them?
