I have been admitted to NYU for an LLM in general studies...just wondering whether its in any way less prestigious compared to other courses...since not a specialization...what r the prospects...can anyone respond??

In my opinion, a good thing of the General studies is its flexibility of courses you can choose. You do not have to stick yourself solely with something....It's good for anyone who wants to know variously as students in the specialized program may not be allowed to study some classes.

I agree with mint, general studies allows for more flexibility. It expands your options. When you receive your degree it does not say "general studies" on it. In fact, all the LLM degrees say the same thing no matter what you specialize in. It's up to you to tell your employer the area you focused on, and this is evidenced by your transcript.
