I am curious what tax courses you took in law school. How many and how well your marks were?

I didn't have the opportunity to take tax courses at law school, but I have an MS in Accounting & Tax and will start sitting for the CPA examinations at the end of this year. I took Corporate Tax, International Tax, Flow Through Entities, and Tax Research--all of which I received A's.

I think I took about 5 tax classes in law school. They were all from the same professor and I think that helped me get a good letter of recommendation.

But I didn't go directly from school to the tax llm, I worked in an unrelated field for three years and now am back working in the tax field and plan to return to my current job after the llm.

Do you mind sharing to which tax llm programs have you applied and the current status? I am a bit of your situation.

Hi DeaconCav06, thanks for sharing. Trust your expensive tax courses experience will make you outstanding... good luck! I will have to call UF to double check if my app package is complete today...

I took Basic Federal Tax, Corporate and Pship Tax, Tax Policy, and Business Planning. I got in and hopefully will get a scholarship because that would make the decision a lot easier. I'm currently working at a firm.

Where'd you get accepted to? I don't follow.

Can acceptances be reposted??? This blog is slightly unorganized and I can't understand who was accepted and to what programs.

I was accepted into GULC in December. I am still waiting on NYU and Florida. At this point, do you think my NYU chances are diminishing?

I think it's still somewhat early in the process. Certainly decisions are still being made and will still be made for several more months.

May I ask what your credentials are (e.g. - school, class rank, etc.) ?

To those who have been accepted into a LLM program -

what kind of work experience did you have prior to being accepted into a LLM program. Specifically, have you had any legal experience involving taxation? If so, what have you done?

Thanks!
