The next paragraphs of the e-mail may also be of interest:
"You should be receiving our official letter of admission and related materials either late next week or some time in the following week, depending on FedEx delivery schedules.
If you have also applied for financial aid, we will let you know our decision on that application by mid-April. (Since admission decisions are made without reference to financial condition, we are only now beginning to review financial aid applications.)"

Smb else got an e-mail from Harvard? Do you think they are sending all their admission e-mails today?
Posted Mar 25, 2005 20:29
so I guess that we will know by email if it is a positive answer...

Julie,
I am not American, I am European (from the cold north-west).

thank Dave, can I ask you the first letter of your family name?

Dear Mr. [my name]
Thank you for your very impressive application to the Harvard Law School LL.M. class of 2005-06. Our Committee on Graduate Studies has just made its admissions decisions, and I wanted to let you know the good news as soon as possible: you have been admitted to the Harvard LL.M. program for next year!"
I am slightly skeptical as the above e-mail message, which I assume was cut and pasted to this thread, has an "I" in the message but uses the more appropriate "our" throughout. Also, today is Good Friday and university offices ordinarily should be closed. I am not saying that david did not receive this message, but in light of previous dubious postings re: HLS acceptance I think we should view it with a jaundiced eye.

Julie,
It's towards the end of the alphabet, if that's what you mean...

the only thing I found it strange myself is that I called them last Thursday and they told me that no information will be release before Monday...
Posted Mar 25, 2005 20:42

Me GUNSHER?

I don't think the school is closed. The university won't be closed next Monday...

Damian,
It is indeed prudent to be sceptical of everything that is said in this forum. The e-mail is signed by the Director of Admissions, thus the "I". But she couldn't really write "My Committee on Graduate Studies", could she? :-)

Also, I noticed an exclamation mark at the end of the first paragraph of the alleged e-mail acceptance message, which I would think is not the usual punctuation a stuffy institution like Harvard would employ. Moreover, from my experience ( and if you don't believe me check the messages on this site), continental Europeans have a tendency to use "!!!!" for more frequently than North Americans.

As far as I know, there are no public holidays relating to Easter in the US (unlike every country in (western) Europe).
Posted Mar 25, 2005 20:51
Well, if I'm wrong, then, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
Posted Mar 25, 2005 20:51
