No question - go to Harvard. You'd be mad to do otherwise.

Yo man. I was admitted last Friday. You are among fine company. Lets get our swing on in Cambridge. Throw back a few if you know what I mean. Now we just sit back and relax while the rest of the desperate fools wait for their decisions next week.
I don't appreciate such a rude comment which, in my hunble opinion, only disgraces the name of Harvard, if, and now I think this is a big "if", you are not bullshitting.

the pressure is really on now! if decisions are rolling out(or rather, have rolled out), then i guess those of us who's inboxes are still "dry" best be making alternative plans for 2007/2008! shucks!!! oh well, life goes on i bet?

Congratulations! By the way, I don't think Frada was first. ;-)

the plot definately thickens!!!! at this point, it seems that we might all know our fate by 15th and not 21st. i am actually thinking of pretending to have a deadline and calling to know my fate=)) although i just applied to HLS, i might just call and claim to have a Hauser that must be accepted within 6 hours hahaaaaaaaaaaaa!! just thinking;)

Good luck Busingye. I heard Yale will be making their decisions some time this week as well.
Posted Mar 13, 2007 01:49
hey senator? hav u heard from HLS?
Posted Mar 13, 2007 01:52
No not yet. I would imagine that I will be hearing back at the same time as everyone else. Good luck with yours; as if you need it.

if ever there was a time i needed luck it is this. Perhaps, later, when men speak of this time, they will say, this was their most nervous hour!! =)) fingers crossed for us all:)

Get over yourselves. Noone on this board can disgrace Harvard. We are too insignificant.
It is sad how people are jumping to defend impersonal institutions like they are their family.
Once you get to these places you'll realize that Harvard doesn't care about you one bit.

Flygirl, would you turn down HLS for CLS?
thanks,
v
All thing being equal financially then I would definitely go to Harvard since it has a better reputation.
But with full funding from NYU (I presume the Hauser or equivalent) and a Fulbright then you have more than enough so-called prestige. And to come out of an LLM with no debt is fantastic.
Remember that with a Fulbright it is very hard to work in the US afterwards since most firms won't take you for just a year unless you can arrange it so that you can transfer to one of their European offices afterwards.
thanks,
v

There is a post on another thread with a reply from HLS to another admitted NYU applicant saying that the HLS results will not be released untill 21 March. Now that we know that some people have got a positive answer from HLS in a similar situation, it looks like the abovementioned email response from Ms Der Kaloustian may well mean a polite rejection. Does anyone know more about this?

I turned down HLS for CLS two years ago - the faculty at CLS was better in my area (constitutional law/legal theory) and I wanted to live in NYC.
Harvard has much better brand recognition outside of the US but in the US there isn't much difference.
