when did u submit your application?

I didn't expect so many replies! hope to address each one of you. On Nov 8 I got 104 (28 R; 29 L; 26 S; 21 W). my previous score was 91 (8/2007). I submitted my application the very first week of September, and I got my first reply after almost 3 weeks
Posted Dec 12, 2008 21:05
Thanks for you answer stagista! I was worried because I think that your previou score was 100, but since it was 91, is very logical to ask you to take it again.
Btw, you really improve your score, congrats for that!

I was lucky on this count. Received my first & second mail within two days of submission of my application. But no word on the third....i hope my application is complete.
Posted Dec 12, 2008 21:12
Thanks Stagista!
Congratulations for your TOEFL score!
I had to increase it too, from 577 (Sep, 2006) to 603 (Oct, 2008).
Legal.eagle I think that you have not received the second-email since you are not sure about the completeness of your application...am I right?

I don't think you need a third e-mail Legal-Eagle. I think they won't get back to us before a final decision has been made. Thank you Jenny, but I must say that I've been living in Washington since January, so I would have been very disappointed not to improve my skills...the writing part (but just the toefl's one) keep being a pain in the neck...

I'm just wondering what the hell NYU admission office is doing right now!
I submitted the application in early Sept. and it's already Mid Dec! I heard a lot of top law schools have released their decisions, while there is still no news from NYU and they can't even estimate when to release!
Do we really need to wait until Feb next year? Waiting so long does not make any sense and definitely will kill me.
Does anybody have the same feeling?

Dear fellow applicant, alias borapassat,
It's almost 3 months that I'm thinking exactly the same thing, How could they not be able to get back to me if I've send them my application back in September...what the hell have been doing all this time??? moreover, the fact I didn't hear from Duke yet, while others did, it's making me anxious...

Yeah...Stagista, I am kind of out of patience and frustrated... Maybe we shouldn't have submit the application so early... I got the second confirmation email one month after I finished my online application while it takes much shorter for the ones who did their application last month...say only a couple of days.
I heard sombody already got admitted by Duke...in a way it's a good news 'cause at least you know what the hell they are doing;)

I thought was a good idea honestly. Moreover, I thought that this way they would have paid more attention to my file, being among the first applicants...of course that was my personal opinion...duke said me, from the very beginning that they would have got back to me by Xmas. they have 13 more days before running late...I'm definitively out of patience...

Let's make a wish: Give us the admission letters as Xmas gift :)
Posted Dec 13, 2008 03:41
I think we are suppose to be notified about the completeness of our application.
My first mail was of acknowledgment of receving the appl, second - TOEFL waiver, Third - no clue.
Yeah i pray each of us gets an admission.

Legal Eagle
I believe the mail granting TOEFL Waiver is not to be confused with confirmation mails. So in that case you also havent received the second mail, right?
BTW I recieved my first confirmation mail on 27th Nov. Is it like around 3 weeks that I need to wait or my second mail?

Yes, legal eagle: I completed my application and got the confirmation letter from them in early Oct. The text of the confirmation is like "your application is complete and submitted to the committee for review, balabala..." hope you have received that...

By looking at that mail, it looks like they did not receive your application fee. I don't think that this is a confirmation mail conforming the completeness of your application. This application does not talk about TOEFL waiver. I presume that the mail for waiver is a different process than confirmation of complete application. By the way, when did you receive this mail? Did you use LSAC online service or sent the application by post?

The Graduate Program Admissions staff is currently reviewing your file. We will make sure to contact you should we require additional documents. We will keep you informed of the status of your application by sending you an e-mail confirming receipt of your application materials; we will then send you a second notice indicating whether your application is complete or not (this is, historically, anywhere between a few days from the date of this e-mail to a few weeks). Please note that decisions regarding TOEFL and fee waiver requests will be communicated to you in a separate email.
This was the mail I was referring to. Then TOEFL waiver happened. Since then haven't heard from them.
